Tatiana began working with my daughter at the age of 4. She has developed a strong connection with my daughter. Tatiana is a fun and patient teacher with a strong sense of building skills for violin as well reading music, and general music appreciation. My daughter looks forward to taking a lesson each week. The lesson time is very well focused and structured to continue learning each week.

Tatiana has been a a great violin teacher. I'm an adult beginner and she has been very patient and encouraging while at the same time challenging me to improve my skills during each session. In addition to being a great teacher, she's clearly a very talented professional musician with a depth of knowledge, so I would definitely recommend her for any age and experience.

Dr. Tatiana is a great violin teacher and I consider myself lucky to have found her to teach me - a beginner in violin. She focuses on not just the music but also form, posture, and helps me relax during lessons, making the learning process an enjoyable one. Every time she gives me new music, there is always a new technique I learn from it. Will definitely continue learning from her for the near future!

Our daughter enjoys her violin classes tremendously: they are very engaging and well structured. We are very impressed with the progress she made only within a couple of months since she started working with Dr. Tatiana. Also, we love that our girl learns about things that are well beyond violin technique such as various musical genres and styles, composers and about arts in general. We highly recommend Dr. Tatiana!

Tatiana teaches 2 of my children (ages 7 and 4), and is doing a terrific job. She has forged a strong personal connection with each of them (especially impressive since my younger one began lessons with her virtually, during the pandemic!), which is so important for the teacher-student relationship. And she knows exactly when to introduce new skills for my children to learn, and when to encourage them to step back and enjoy using what they've already learned. I was a serious violinist myself as a child, and am delighted at my children's progress and, perhaps more important, their increasing love of music under Tatiana's tutelage. Big thumbs up from our family!

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Greetings! I am very much looking forward to interacting with you on an individual basis. As so much of violin playing depends on a close relationship with your physicality, I'm here to help guide you, to the best that I can, through a holistic and mindful approach to violin performing and practicing. Mind over matter, always in the service of music. All ages and levels are welcomed. Lessons are taught in English or Russian. The only thing asked from you is a serious, committed, and passionate attitude. At this time, I am offering a one-time package of three private lessons, meant to act as a supplement to your current studies. That said, for those who are beginners or are looking for regular guidance there is an option of signing up for permanent weekly lessons. To help me begin to know you as a violinist and person, please take a few minutes to send me a message and leave your contact info. I will respond promptly via email to schedule a **free 15-minute consultation via Zoom**, which each prospective student is entitled to. During the consultation, we'll discuss structure of lessons, rates, policies, and logistics- and, have a general chat! I look forward to meeting you. Take care, Dr. Tatiana Chulochnikova
