Outstanding trainer. Has a lot of knowledge and experiance in both weightlifting and self defense. Also has a great personality and is dedicated to make his clients both happy and satisfied to the fullest.
Evis did an excellent job engaging our women's only kickboxing class our facility hosted. He was very attentive with our attendees and had them focused and engaged. They were raving about he class afterwards, and are looking forward to the next one. Not only was it an excellent work out, but they had fun too!
I've only had one session with Andre because, shortly after my first session, I found out I was pregnant and decided it probably wasn't the most ideal time to learn self-defense! I plan to get back in shape with a vengeance and learn how to kick butt after the baby is born, so I would love to try out some more sessions with Andre at a later date. With that being said, in only one session I felt that he really seems to know a lot about self-defense, as well as be genuinely interested in helping people get into great shape. Plus, he's a very friendly guy and his pricing is reasonable. I would recommend scheduling a session with him!
It all started with 3 words. I was first inspired to visit the East Morris Karate Academy years ago when I came across an old yellow-page ad describing the school that said: Tradition / Society / Profession. This short description was (and still is) unusual in a market that hypes MMA, cage fighting, barb-wire tattoos, kiddie karate and/or womens self defense for weight loss programs. So I was curious could this be the real deal? What I learned rather quickly was 1) That not all karate schools are the same; 2) that the East Morris Karate Academy taught karate in the traditional sense of the word and; 3) that my life was about to change in a myriad of ways for the better. I got stronger, focused, more confident, and began finding successes both in, and out, of the dojo. Now, years later, Ive seen this happen countless times in many of our adult and junior students. This stuff does work! Whether you are an adult looking to study martial arts, or a parent looking for a quality program for your child - you cant go wrong with Mr. Musco & East Morris Karate Academy. They are everything that karate is supposed to be about.
I am so grateful that I hired John to teach me self defense and traditional martial arts skills. He always tailors our lessons to meet my needs, and he is encouraging in a way that makes me want to work harder. He is also extremely knowledgable and I am learning so much from him. I feel more confident in my ability to protect myself already!
David is a knowledgeable and patient teacher in Martial Arts and General Self Defense. He uses a personalized approach regardless of class size to bring each student to the limits, and beyond, of their own potential.
NOTHING beats the experience you'll have at Shunato Karate. As a kickboxing student, Sensei Kato has not only taught me the essentials of self defense, but in the process has also taught me confidence, determination, focus, patience, and the importance of a happy workout. I've dropped 6 pant sizes just having fun! Shunato isn't just a dojo, it's a family. You're not going to find anything else like it, so stop looking. Come join us!
There is not enough words in the world to describe how much this great man can help you. A few years ago I thought I was well equipped with my skills, but he showed me so much that I now know I knew so little. Mark can take you up and beyond your goals and is a great mentor and my go to man for advice. He is so wise and talented and I can't wait to train with him more in my future for the world of MMA. Not only is he knowledgable in MMA he is great for boxing, bjj, kickboxing, and muy Thai. I would recommend him to anyone who wants to be serious in the world of fighting, self defense, anyone who wants to be fit or anyone who needs a great friend or mentor to talk to. Mark goes beyond my description, you just have to try him!
The owners are supper friendly and treat everyone like family. The self defense instructor is great, and doesn't take himself to seriously. A fantastic class and I look forward to going every week.
I've been studying FMA under Guro Alex for about 8 months. He not only helped me reconnect with FMA, but because of his background in fitness, has also shown me exercises to complement the martial arts training. If you are looking for an effective self-defense class but require a physical fitness element to complement that training, then I highly suggest you seek Guro Alex.
Jackie is awesome. She teaches the best techniques and has helped correct my form. She cares about everyone that walks into her gym and into her life. She cares that I get it right instead of just making money. I wish I could train more often with her because I know I would be in excellent condition and a supreme fighter. Or at the very least supreme in self defense if God forbid I should ever need it. When I think of great teachers Jackie is my top 3. Probably #1. I just wish she was closer to my area. Or I closer to hers. If your close to her gym. GO!!! you will fall in love with her spirit and commitment to training. You will will find a new home too. OK I really need to move. I would literally move closer just so I can go train with her on a regular basis. I don't drive so its not easy for me to get to her. But if you can... GO!!!
The 8 year old who is bullied at school was very happy with his private lesson. He's already feeling more confident and has learned some self defense moves that are appropriate for his age, height, strength level, etc. John will be doing bi-weekly one on one self defense lessons for the next few weeks and then some. As a grandma, I'm very happy my grandon is learning how to protect himself, confidence, how to get out of bully situations, etc.
I am teaching self-defense and fitness based on Taekowndo, Jeet Kune Do, Arnis, boxing, and kickboxing. The student gets practical skills and sparring safely.
Because I'm not doing this solely to get paid. I want to live in a world where a large majority of the population has studied some form of the art. I believe that if a large enough group or community train the amount of negative things that happen will decrease because they would have something that instills them with purpose and meaning.
I offer personal training (i.e., resistance training, weight loss and muscle gain) and self-defense fight training.
I teach self-defense to students ages 18 and above. I"ll help you to kill your free time and get some goal. If you want to prevent, avoid, escape, or react instantly, I'll teach you how to do it.
Your mind is your best weapon. To fill your mind with the knowledge of the best integrated martial art and your first line of defense, is to protect yourself and your family. We offer Samurai Jujutsu-based lessons, integrated with Wing Chun, Mande Muda, Arnis, etc.
I am a female who understands self defense from a realistic point of view and can help you develop the repetitive skills you need to use this information if you ever have the need.
Over 40 years of training Wonderful location Great Teachers
Private, personal self-defense, and martial arts lessons with a sensei who has been teaching students self-defense for over 30 years. I have a black belt in four separate martial arts and styles. I am dedicated and committed to both the martial arts and the student's learning and self-confidence. The martial arts began centuries ago with the teacher and student trusting and learning together in a unique and private setting. The student was able to not only learn self-defense, confidence, and protection skills, but they were also able to learn and grow as an individual and as a person. The element of trust became easier for the student as they were able to confide and learn in this sacred and private setting. There are no other students to distract you from learning, no lines, no substitute teachers, no being stuck in the back of the class or the back of the room. All questions were asked and all questions were relevant. The student was always the priority and the focus of the class and session. Always more time for learning and confidence building. That's the tradition where I came from and what I believe in. No uniform is required, no long term contract, and no hidden fee. The only request from me, Sensei Dennis, is for serious students only who keep their word, who come to class on time, who are respectful to the martial arts and the sensei, and who are willing to trust and learn. Any student who is willing to learn comes into the room leaving their ego at the door. With that agreement in mind, then that's our contract. Private classes are 90 minutes long and can be requested for any day of the week at any time provided that the time is not already scheduled. Semi-private and small group classes can be requested and done upon request. Classes can be in the day, afternoon, evening or late hours. Classes are for men, women, children, and couples. No age is too old or too young. Everyone is welcomed. Remember that personal safety and protection skills never goes out of style. Wherever you live or wherever you move to, your protection skills and advantage goes with you. I hope to have the privilege of meeting and teaching you in the future. Thank you. ~ Sensei Dennis.
