About this pro
It should be a relief - not a chore - to see your math tutor. I am there to help unravel anything confusing and lay things out plain and simple. Every student needs something a little bit different, whether it be a certain metaphor to help with multiplication or a visual to help with matrices. I'll try to find that "aha!" moment with you without too much busywork and just enough practice. The moment when something clicks with the student and the next problem is no problem at all.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Finishing up my second semester of college calculus. Using math in biology labs and when reading papers! Yesterday I calculated the surface area of a petri dish covered by bacteria that feeds off of milk. Cool!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I've always been explaining a lot of math to my classmates and to my younger siblings, so it was a logical transition to get better at it and turn it into work.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?Personalize your needs! Different tutors have different methods and different students respond differently to each one. Find the best one for you and it will yield the best results.
