Introduction: We have a combined 40 years of story telling experience behind us, and we love to take a unique approach to telling each story. Whether we are telling the stories using our HD cinema cameras or our 16mm film camera, we understand the importance of capturing the emotion and energy of the moment. We explore and challenge you to share why you've come to where you are and who or what you celebrate for being here. Everyone's story is different and therefor deserves it's own light. Asa and Ben shot our wedding in July 2012. They were both fantastic to work with. They did a great job on our video and gave us as many copies as we liked. The video came out so beautiful, we still cry together when we watch it.

What can I say? Ben and Asa were incredible...... We hired Shutts Productions through Thumbtack as we were planning our wedding from out of state and knew no one who filmed weddings or events. From the beginning when we met them through Skype, we felt GREAT about who we were going to work with. The most important thing to us is feeling good and having a solid relationship with the people you will be working with. Before the wedding, we met with Asa face to face at a brewery (which first off, was awesome). She had spent the time to review additional packages they offered and the documents we had already filled in (there were a lot but it was necessary so they knew who to film and what we wanted). We spent about 2 hours together and walked away with feeling even more pleased that we hired the right company to film our wedding AND they would be sure to capture all of the moments. The day of the wedding Asa and Ben were right on time! We really didn't even KNOW they were there. It's amazing how they captured the footage and were able to be very much behind the scenes. My now husband was late and Ben ended up making it work! They filmed us girls getting ready (with Asa) and the guys getting ready (with Ben). They stayed almost the entire time and once my little cousins son started to take his shirt off to dance..... she pulled the video camera right back out to not miss a moment (as she was leaving)!!!! They both also worked with our photographer SO well...... it was truly a team effort and they all made sure we were on time. They also had some great ideas for the video and filmed it additionally (us girls with our hands in the middle together, filming the pups at my moms house, the random sing along from my Husbands friends, it was GREAT). We only got married a few days ago and there was so much that went on during our special day that we are going to do an extended package with them!!! It was just too priceless and we cannot wait to see the footage. Both of them, if you look at their website, are true artists. A review just couldn't wait and if we do any other events in Rochester, I would hire them again in a heartbeat. They are extremely professional, artistic, wonderful at being behind the scenes, and just overall great people. I would suggest them to anyone, any day!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Talk! Talk! Talk! We want to get to know you. How you fell in love, what your wedding vision is. What parts of the day you're looking forward to most. From there we go over our packages and where your needs best fall in line. We can customize any package to fit your needs. We then sign a contract and receive a downpayment which secures your day with us. Then more talking and staying in touch till we meet a short time before the wedding to review your details of events.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We both hold bachelors degrees in the field, but remain students of our trade. Constantly upgrading our equipment and honing our style. We believe that traditional film making has it's place in modern video and strive to bridge the two.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
A little tenacity a little tripping over a rock. Ben has been focused on video his entire professional career. He has worked for everything from news, to feature films to tv commercial production. Asa has been in and out of love with the camera since she was little. She comes from an artistic background that started with a camera and travelled to metal sculpture and returned. We fell in love and decided to combine our knowledge and eye together to create memories for others that last a lifetime.
