My son, age 14, had his first lesson private lesson with Serge last week and love it! Serge is a professional and obviously well versed in Krav Maga. He is also a very good instructor, explaining the moves but kept the class fast paced and fun. We bought a 5 class private package for a great price. Would highly recommend!
Andre explained some basic Krav Maga techniques and had us pair up to practice these moves. He was punctual, friendly and answered any questions that we had with extreme care and detail. It was an enjoyable experience that left us wanting to practice more. He also shared valuable information on NYC laws regarding self defense that were very good to know.

Training Day 1 a success: he seems nice and definitely tailors a routine to your specific needs--and I need someone who's gonna kick my butt at workout (but not in a drI'll sergeant kind of way, which he is definitely not). Looking forward to future kickboxing lessons as part of the routine as well!

I had taken up this art at the age of 18 years old to assist me in my job performance while under pressure/ stress. Additionally, it became more and more easier as I trained for 30 minutes each day. I was given many hours of advance specializes training from Keith Sammy, Instructor. Lion Style is an art which gives an individual the abuility to defend themselves from any angle with you legs( since you have longer reach and more power with a kick), then your hands. This is a science built art and utilizes kenitics with psychology to strike an opponent without being strike, lead an opponent into an action that allow you to strike, and confuse the opponent. The 8 year old who is bullied at school was very happy with his private lesson. He's already feeling more confident and has learned some self defense moves that are appropriate for his age, height, strength level, etc. John will be doing bi-weekly one on one self defense lessons for the next few weeks and then some. As a grandma, I'm very happy my grandon is learning how to protect himself, confidence, how to get out of bully situations, etc.
I provide Tai Chi Chuan and Qi Gong classes and private lessons. I have been teaching Tai Chi/QiGong classes for 5 years now at St. Margarets House on Fulton Street. My training at the East Morris Karate Academy (EMKA) forms one of the foundations of my life. I have been a member of the Dojo for 28 years and I have been an Instructor there since 1996. The time commitment alone shows how valuable I consider my membership at EMKA. One of the reasons I joined the Dojo (at age 12) was to learn Self-Defense (from bullies). What I got goes far beyond that (though I have learned many effective self-defense techniques). The training gave me the self-confidence to avoid bullying without any physical altercations. This is just one of the many skills I have incorporated into my life through training at the Dojo. I learned how the effort you put in pays off in the results, I leaned discipline, awareness, courage, integrity and courtesy. Upon becoming an Instructor, the training only expanded. My continued training as an Instructor has given me lessons in leadership, planning, marketing and of course teaching. One of the unique things about this Dojo is how focused the training of instructors is on effective teaching techniques. I use things Ive learned at EMKA everyday. I value the camaraderie between the students and my fellow instructors. I thank my Teacher Mr. Musco for his efforts at developing such an extraordinary place.
