Wedding Photography

I cannot say enough about our experience with Erik. First and foremost, he offers quality for an amazing price. I mean, our pictures are far better than we could have ever hoped for them to be. He connected with me through Thumbtack and told me up from what the extent of his services would entail and nothing strayed from this. On the day, he showed up to the hotel where we were getting ready exactly when he said he would. He immediately got to work taking pictures of us, my dress, our rings, etc. You almost weren't even conscious of him being there at times because he simply worked diligently around everyone...never getting in the way. He popped back and forth between my husband and myself taking pictures of the pre-marriage events. We then went to another location and took "first look" pictures. He traveled with us to the main event location, all the while taking very creative pictures we never even thought of. Our location, on a yacht on the Hudson in Manhattan, was a more difficult location to photograph because of the wind, undulation on the water, lighting (day to night), etc. You would never think that it was difficult though with the ease at which he took amazing photographs. Personally, Erik is a very friendly, helpful, engaging person to have around on your wedding day. Unfortunately, due to some family circumstances he had, we had to wait a little longer than expected for our photographs, but in a way it was nice to relive the moment a while after the event took place. He makes downloading the photos very easy, and I was able to provide the link to family and friends as well so they could access them. I would highly recommend his services. The one thing I would not change about our wedding is our fantastic photographer.

Erik is exceptionally professional and always vigilant to take the shots that define your event. He was so good working with us and dealt well with the camera shyness we had as a couple, making sure to get us focused (pun intended) on posing for the photos we will love after the wedding.

Amazing Artistic Photography, Direction, and Execution Erik is truly an expert wedding photojournalist photographer who tirelessly documented and enhanced our event in numerous special ways. Erik arrived prepared with an arsenal of lenses and worked the bride getting ready shots endlessly with very creative angles, situations, and attention to detail. Then he after copious amount of patience and professionalism he moved on to recommending and determining the best outdoor ceremony location. The resulting lighting and background location he used was the best place and hadn't even been considered as a possibility by the wedding party when trying to decide beforehand. Then he expertly took various group portrait shots in many combinations and numerous situations. All the while, Erik explored and ensured our guests were relaxed and enjoying the event with abundant photographic opportunities fully captured. He also took fully advantage of the magic hour around sunset and took the bride and groom on an intimate photoshoot in nearby nature. He didn't stop when the party got heated and dark set in, capturing many spontaneous ethnic dance moments in addition to the expected ones. Thousand of shots were taken over seven hours with barely a break to eat in between all these events and we can't wait to see the final results which we know were captured from hearing the perfectly timed shutter clicks and Erik reviewing periodically the digital display results himself and sharing periodically with us!

Wedding and Event Photography

Eric was just wonderful in our wedding throughout the entire day from start to finish! I loved the fact that he was very patient and even did his best in communicating in Spanish with some of my guests to get them to listen a bit. He was shooting nonstop throughout the entire wedding. I will say though that My husband and I were a bit concerned towards the end because we weren't sure if we had enough different poses of the two of us and we wished we would've told him, but time was running by so fast and it was just so hectic on that day that you don't even have time to think! But I'm pretty sure when our photos are done we are going to receive some great shots!! And you better believe Eric is not afraid to get on the floor or climb things if he has too... The shoot with my bridesmaids and I was by far the funniest when we threw the bouquets and a whole bunch of them ended up hitting him as he was sitting down on the grass taking our pics!! Hahaha Eric was totally fine about it and laughed and joked with us. He's very laid back and makes you feel comfortable and anything you may need he will try to accommodate you so you won't stress yourself too much on your special day. Highly recommend him!! We can't wait to get our photos and we are so excited to see them. Thanks again Eric and we hope to see you again at another future event!! Sincerely, Mr. And Mrs. Wilcox

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Thumbtack charges each vendor approximately $50 when you contact them. The vendor is available for your date as Thumbtack checks their availability calendar. Please be selective when contacting a vendor. Exhale Photojournalism's rates on Thumbtack are discounted several times their rate outside of Thumbtack. I know most people on Thumbtack have lower budgets and are trying to find an excellent photographer/videographer for a discounted price. The reason I reduce my rate on Thumbtack is because I'm looking to fill a few blank dates on my calendar for the current season. I still work just as hard to complete an amazing job for all my clients at whatever rate we negotiate.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

The first step for the potential client to text, call or email me back. Thumbtack's messaging service works rather well. The next step is to talk on the phone to get to know one another and work out the timeline and budget. If we are on the same page then I'll write-up a contract and save the date on my calendar.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a degree in Journalism with a concentration in PhotoJournalism. I was a photojournalist for 10 years and worked for The New York Times, National Geographic, The Associated Press among many other editorials. I also have worked in video for ABC and I've produced, shot and edited my own videos for many corporate and social clients. I've worked with Hillary Clinton, Martha Stewart, Mark Cuban, Bill Clinton and many more notable people whom have trusted me.
