Introduction: Hi! My name is Yusra and I’m a Certified MUA and Hairstylist. I’m a graduate from the Makeup Academy in NYC. I’ve been exposed to such amazing experiences, I was one of the MUAs at a Pride Event for the NBA and was part of New York Fashion Week and New York Bridal Week!

I can’t recommend Yusra enough. She was absolutely amazing. I joined the Thumbtack App just so I could hire someone to do my hair and makeup on New Years Day in Long Island for our friend’s wedding (which was 3.5 hours away from home). She reached out to me on the app right away. When the person I initially hired canceled last minute, I reached back out and as luck would have it, she was still available. It was all meant to be because not only did she arrive early, she did such a wonderful job with my hair and makeup. The experience wasn’t awkward one bit. She engaged in conversation and made me feel completely at ease. It’s rare to meet someone for the first time, have them in your personal space and not feel uncomfortable. She was incredibly professional, timely, and just lovely overall. If I have to come back to the Long Island area for any future events, I would absolutely rehire her. She made my pre-wedding process so stress free and I felt beautiful all night.

I needed hair and makeup to attend a wedding and couldn’t visit a salon due to being a new mom. Yusra responded really quickly and made herself available with just a few days notice and made the hour long trip to me with no hesitation. I loved the final look and really appreciated how much she disinfected all the products before and after each use. Put my mind at ease with having a newborn at home! Super happy and will hire Yusra again soon!

I loved the makeup look Yusra created for me ! I suffer from hyperpigmentation and I have some brown acne scars I wished to cover up. As a south Asian/ person of color trying to do makeup on my own- sometimes I saw my makeup creasing and giving me a Greyish/ashy look . I wanted to learn how to apply my makeup products better and alternative products to achieve a flawless everyday look.
I asked Yusra to help me cover up my flaws and she did such an amazing job ! From the beginning, she observed what skin type I have in order to determine which products are a good fit for me. She took her time prepping my skin (something I constantly overlook on my own). She also went into detail with every product she used and how she applied it so I can repeat the process on my own . It was a pleasure working with her- she is kind, patient and knowledgeable. I look forward to the next look she creates for me !
