About
My eye for subtle detail and having worked with a wide variety of clients and projects I am able to help give each production the level of professional appearance and quality of production values with those details. In addition to digital photography, I have over 30 years experience in videography and editing video with skills using all the Adobe products as well as AVID.
I have worked as a producer, director, videographer, editor, writer, audio and light director for many various corporate video productions as well as over 14 years as a local TV news videographer and editor.
I view video as a way to preserve memories and family history. Let me help you rescue old home movies and videos to make then available digitally for your entire family. I am able to record family members memories and statements they may want to leave for the family. I can also document your household belongs for insurance proof or any custom video you may want for promoting a business or favorite cause or to help raise awareness or money for an issue or cause. I can create video to promote products for a business of any size for any product or service. The difference between me and my competitors is that I will involve you throughout the process and work with you to get the video that you envision for a negotiated price that is fair to us both.
You can also view my Linked-In profile. The address is also located in my business website area.
I enjoy shooting photos and creating videos with clients - involving them all along in the process to help insure that they are informed and happy about every step of the process and with the final video.
You can view some of my past video work on my YouTube channel located in my business website area. I will be happy to share examples of my still photography work if requested.
Additionally I can transfer your prints, negatives, slides, video tapes & motion pictures to digital. I also do restoration on damaged prints, negatives & slides.
I charge $25 per tape regardless of length to a digital file and $30 per tape regardless of length that includes a DVD, label and case. I also can transfer 8mm & super 8 to digital for $35 per 50 feet (a small plastic reel) $70 per 200 feet on one reel and $100 for a 400 feet on one reel.
Prints, slides and negatives are 90 cents each. Enhancement is $40 per hour. Final output is a high and low resolution of each image.
If you prefer a flat rate, after learning all the details of your project, we can negotiate a price. I will do all I can to fit your budget. If you have a lot of video, film and/or photos, we can negotiate a better rate for larger projects. we can also do smaller parts of a large project to help meet you budget limitations and stretch the work over time to help level out the cost.
Let's talk and see what we can do together to get the project completed the way you want and stay within your budget.

We did a budior shoot with Rick and it was an amazing experience. He’s a very comfortable and professional photographer to do this type of shoot with. He also had a great eye and knows what look good. The photos look so amazing that I don’t even think we’ll need much editing. We’d definitely hire him again! Highly recommend!

I gave him an old picture of my grandfather as a young man. Badly faded and torn. I didn't expect to much of a change because of all the damage but I was truly excited and pleased with the results. Would use him again in a minute.

It was a military photo done during the Viet Nam war. It was faded. However the difficult part was the photo had been done on this paper that, when copied, looked like black spots all over it. It took him hours to remove all the spots. It looks great. I am very grateful. He gave me a veteran discount. My cost was very reasonable.

Richard responded quickly to my inquiry and was very nice and professional. I asked that he conduct a photo shoot for my mother and her twin sister onsite at a local venue to commemorate their 60th birthdays. He visited the location ahead of the shoot for optimal lighting, etc. He was kind, and as I was not present, hearing such feedback from my mom was very important to me; it was nice knowing she was being taken care of. And last, but least, I received digital photos the day following the shoot and they were gorgeous! I would definitely reach out to Richard again in the future for any needs pertaining to photography.

Rick was very professional and understanding about what I wanted. I needed some of my 43 yrs old wedding photos restored. They had darkened over the years. The quality of his work is excellent. I would recommend him to everyone.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Less is more. I try to keep it simple. Before knowing all the details, I use an hourly rate and after I know all the details we can negotiate a flat rate if the client would prefer that. For conversion of videos from tape to digital files and/or DVDs, I have a sliding scale depending on the volume. Ask me for details if interested.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Discussion with the customer to learn the details of the project to be done and working with them together to make sure that their expectations are realistic and achievable and that they are met and even exceeded. Educate the client on the process and involve them as much as possible.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I keep in touch with others still in the broadcast and corporate video and photography fields and also read articles in professional publications.
