My husband and I saw Judy for marriage counseling. We had previously found another counselor who abruptly quit or was fired after only two sessions. Judy took over our case and we were very fortunate she did. Since we had never been in counseling before, we did not know what to expect. The first counselor gave us no background on herself or what we would be doing. We had only filled out a questionnaire. Judy was very professional. She told us her education, background and what was to be expected. She also saw each of us separately before she started couples counseling. Her sessions lasted two hours versus one hour. One hour is too short, which we learned from the first counselor. Judy saved our marriage and we will be forever grateful to her. Although we had been married for over 25 years, she taught us how to really communicate for the first time! We both liked her style. She was objective, listened and did not take sides.
Sam Nabil is an outstanding counselor. He is both professional and relatable which is very comforting for someone who has not been to a counselor or therapist before. He is very knowledgeable and has shown great adaptability as different issues have presented themselves in our sessions.
Mike brings a wealth of experience, expertise, and kindness to the field of therapy. He is excellent as either a personal or marriage counselor. Well versed in cognitive therapy, he uniquely combines this with spiritual and personal insights to help the process.
Karen has a long service background, and has been successful in other areas in her life than professional counseling (for example JD degree). I believe this makes her ideally suited to look at your situ (whatever that maybe) in a 3rd person dispassionate manner. often we are so wrapped up in living our lives we forget to step back and see another's point of view. It helps me to get second and sometimes 3rd opinions on major life decisions. Yet if we turn to our friends for these they will always support us (or worse project us onto them) without necessarily being objective. Karen can serve as that dispationate sounding board whose only interest is seeing you succeed as best you can but in a non judgmental fashion.
