- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
A very basic pricing structure would be $4 per serving for buttercream cakes and $ 5 per serving for fondant cakes. This price includes delivery to the venue and setup of the entire cake display. There may be an additional fee only if I am cutting and serving the cake. I can, however, provide a diagram of how to cut and serve the cake properly.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Upon initial contact, I discuss in detail what the wishes are for the cake at their event. I use a checklist of questions to ask so no details are missed. After our conversation I recap to ensure I have a thorough understanding of what is being asked of me. I draw up a sketch if needed, and move forward from there.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I completed a cake decorating class a few years back where I learned the basics. From there I am self taught through videos, tutorials and good old trial and error!
