After several phone conversations and emails, I decided to have Chef Mel from Everybody Eats cater my clambake. She said she had done events like mine before and her largest event was 150 people. My clambake was for 38 people and was scheduled to serve at 5:00. Chef Mel showed up at 2:30 and began setting up. At this time I noticed they unpacked a brand new, 2' diameter grill ( to cook 19 steaks), and one person carried the huge clam pot. ( I've done 21 of my own clambakes and know one person can not carry a clam pot that size by themselves.) I looked in the pot to see only bagged clams. when I asked about the chickens, she said she cooks the chickens separate so they cook faster. She had the chickens in two containers the size and shape of large coffee urns. She said she would cook those on my stove. She then started her grill for the steaks. Several times between 4:30 and 5:30 I asked her how things were going. She said ok, but it was taking longer than she thought for her grill to get hot. Sometime between 6 and 6:30 she had people lining up for food. Shortly after, people were bringing their food back. The chickens and steaks were still raw. I asked her if she was having problems and she said her grill would not get hot. I offered her my gas grill. She said no. She then began slicing the steaks in half so they would cook faster. At around 7:00 I asked again if she would like my gas grill. She said yes so I brought it to her and turned the burners on high, so the grill could heat up. I looked out a few minutes later to see food on the grill and flames shooting a foot above the food. I reached in and turned the burners down. All of the food on the grill was charred. At around 8:30, the fiasco was over. The last two people I had cater showed up at 4:00 and they were gone between 6:30 and 7. When we settled the bill, I said honestly, you've never done this before have you? She said no, but I helped someone before. Chef Mel may be excellent at preparing special diet foods for people, but she was in way over her head trying this 38 person clambake.

Melissa was so courteous and polite and the entire dinner was just so delicious! Most phenomenal gluten free menu I have ever experienced! The kitchen was spotless when she was finished and the extra food was left in the refrigerator. Definitely 5star service! We will definitely be seeing Melissa again! Thank you Melissa for making our evening perfect!

Melissa was very kind and professional. My parents raved about all the foods she prepared and how sweet and down to earth she was. Will a be working with her in the future and are very pleased. Plus I live out of town and the planning process was so easy.
