FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Photography never stops evolving. It is extremely important that I stay up to date with the most recent trends and technology to improve my skill. I read blogs, subscribe to YouTube channels, and never stop experimenting.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've been behind a lens for over ten years. I got curious with photographer when I was a kid and saw sports photographers on the sidelines of football games and at the edge of the ramps at the X-Games. I just had to figure out how to get involved. I'd take my moms camera out with my friends when we were skating or riding BMX and I got hooked. In high school I got into the art side - developing film, learning about lighting and really learning more about photography and how it works. My obsession grew and I carried my SLR everywhere, taking photos of friends and sports. From there I worked as a sports photographer for a local high school football magazine. Over the last few years my focus has transitioned to freelance portrait photography, focusing on engagement portraits, newborns and kids, and maternity portraits.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Freelance portrait photography, focusing on engagement portraits, newborns and kids, and maternity portraits. I also work with bands shooting promotional images as well as concert/gig photography, headshots, etc. From time to time I shoot commercial and real estate photography or promotional/marketing materials for small businesses including gyms, bars/restaurants, and more.
