FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Piano lessons start at $45 per lesson and billed monthly. Discounts available if paying in quarterly (3 month) or yearly tuition installments.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Parents and students must first meet for an interview with me (free of charge) online through Skype or Zoom. Especially if this is the start of your child's musical journey, it's important to make sure that we are a good fit for you! In the interview, we address parent, student, and teacher expectations for taking piano lessons, talk about your child’s learning style and any special needs they may have, and go through the Lyrikos studio policies. I will then send the Enrollment Form to the parents to fill out and sign off on. Parents must also submit an enrollment fee payment of $50 and their first tuition installment before officially starting lessons.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Masters degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from Ohio University, and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Music degree from Ohio State University. While in undergrad and graduate school I placed two concerto competitions and studied piano teaching with Katherine Fisher, the creator of the Piano Safari method, which I continue to use with my students today. I am an active member of the Central East district of the Music Teachers National Association, and recently presented a talk at the national conference on millennial music teachers and their unique experience as pedagogues. I also spend much of my time arranging pop and video game music for students of all levels, and started publishing my original compositions last year--one was even featured in a composition showcase!
