Kevin was the best! Highly recommend. He had a longer commute to our location and we really appreciated it. Our son, Spencer is going off to the Navy and Kevin provided DJ Service for a going away party. Music was great and everyone enjoyed themselves! Kevin, thank you for helping provide a memory we will all enjoy for a lifetime.Nov 10, 2019Verified
Kevin was a pleasure to work with. He did a wonderful job as M.C. at my reception. I had a couple of specific requests like playing the shoe game, which turned out to be a hit! Everyone had a great time! Thank you so much!Sep 5, 2018Verified
The song skipped and he didn't play some of the songs that I wrote down for him to play. We had to tell him what we wanted to do and was no entertainment and lots of lulls. He also acted like he had never met us before and then took the time at the end of the night to promote himself.Aug 27, 2018VerifiedMemories Mobile DJ Service's reply
I am certainly sorry to hear this...and I would be interested in knowing which songs that were written down were not played, as I kept a pretty close watch on the song list. During a 4 hour event, you can only play about 55 songs total, counting the down time for toasts, introductions and other announcements. No timeline had been set in advance, so I needed to take direction from bride and groom to know what they wanted to do when. We did, for example, the anniversary dance as requested, we did all of the requested songs for the introductions. As far as a song "skip" went, I admit I have been dealing with a computer issue at my house which, for a time, did not allow me to hear audio from the computer. That issue was repaired the day after the event...which was the soonest at which I could get my I.T. person over to fix it. I do apologize for any problems with that song, as I was not able to hear it play in the days ahead of the event.
Kevin was absolutely amazing with the right music at the right times for my wifes birthday. He was setup before he was needed and worked flawlessly.Dec 23, 2018Verified
Could not speak more highly of the value received. I hired Kevin to dj and mc my wedding at Sycamore Creek Country Club and everything was just perfect. Extremely professional and affordable!!! Will suggest for everyoneMay 23, 2017Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? My pricing is competitive and extremely affordable for most types of events. Mention Thumbtack when you call and I will gladly give you a $50 dollar discount.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Typically, the contract process is turnkey. Once being informed of a booking, I send the client a "starter kit" which includes the Services Agreement, and a number of forms on which the client lists names of the members of the wedding party and the specific "special dance" songs...and lists where songs requested for dancing can be highlighted. That gives me a starting point for "party time" at the event.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Any self respecting business person does and I do. But, I prefer reading journals and magazine articles than going to the "Mobile DJ Conventions", which are a lot of schmoozing, boozing and "see and be seen". I teach college level courses in Broadcasting, so I am constantly among younger people and program the school's internet radio station. That way I am up to date with my music. My current hit music is provided through use of a radio station music service which I can purchase because of my affiliation with radio stations. This means, my music is never more than about 2 weeks behind your local stations. And, I also bring a streaming cord in the event I need to stream a song during an event.
