FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first thing that a customer should do, even before considering the cost, is to look through my galleries to see if they love the work I do. Then we can talk prices. The client should decide on either digital photos or prints and then choose a photo package. Once the package is chosen we will decide on a place and time to meet for the photo session. Payment is asked for up front on the day we shoot. You will receive a copy of the contract in an email that day. After about a week I will give you a link to your photos. You will then choose the ones you want and I'll send you the cd with your photos along with a print release form if requested. If you had ordered prints, the prints will be delivered within 2 weeks. Finally, I will ask if you'd write a review of my services.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I ended up purchasing an slr camera for an Alaska trip we took many years ago. Since I'm a gadget guy I ended up upgrading some of my equipment. Camera stuff is expensive, so after a few lenses and a new camera my wife told me that I was cut off unless I started making money at it. So I did. My good friend's mother is a wedding photographer and I had asked if I could tag along. I did so for about 7 weddings and then ventured off on my own.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Money isn't everything. If you're going to dress up, spend the time and money for a photographer, the last thing you want is mediocre photos. So it's important that you love the work they've already completed. Pay the extra amount to ensure great photos. But keep it in your budget, too.
