What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We provide a free "Meet and Greet" for our customers. This allows the customer and their pet to check us out and make sure we are a good fit.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was raised on a farm and have been caring for animals all of my life.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I moved from my small town in Northwest Ohio for College. I missed animals so much, but wasn't able to have one of my own at the time. I began taking care of my family and friend's pets as a hobby and things took off from there!
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have cared for dogs, cats, birds, turtles, lizards, rabbit, chickens, goats, and horses.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure that you have a provider that is Bonded and Insured and a part of a Pet Sitting Association and that has had a background check. Anyone can claim to be a Pet Sitter or Dog Walker, but it is best to have one with qualifications for your safety and your animals.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
It is important to know what goal you have for your companions. For walking services, different clients use services for exercise, anxiety, stress, or just the common bathroom break. This will help you decide how many times a week you would like to have visits and the length of the visit. For the customer who is looking for a quick potty break in the middle of the day, a walk around the block and potty break is a great option for people looking for visits 5 days a week. For those who are looking for exercise, a 30 minute walk may be the best option.
