FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer a variety of options in hopes of meeting a variety of needs. Visits start at $10 for a very quick drop-in. The popular 30-minute visit is $16. Depending on distance from my office, there may be a travel charge. More details are on my web site.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Initially we have a free consultation, where we will discuss your needs, and your animal(s) can get to know me a bit. You can show me their supplies and explain their routine. I'll answer any questions you may have, and if you choose to utilize my services, you'll provide me with a way to get in to care for them in your absence. I will follow your instructions to the letter, and will check in with you while you're gone. You are more than welcome to check in with me as well. I know how hard it is to entrust your animals to someone else, and I want to do all that I can to minimize your stress as well as that of your animals.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in biology, with a 4th year focus on Equine Science. In various jobs and volunteer positions, I have been trained to care for many species of reptiles, amphibians, birds, arachnids, fish (salt and freshwater), and mammals from mice to mules. I am constantly reading and learning, and have taken many training and first aid classes. I have also spent years working in veterinary hospitals and on farms.
