- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
An elderly gentleman contacted me about a water leak on a porch. After figuring out how to fix the leak, I realized the existing wall and foundation were both not level or plumb. The mans budget would not allow us to demo the porch and build him another one, his decision was he wanted the leak fixed, that was all. So I removed the exterior wall without taking the roof down, flashed the bottom plate and completed the task. The customer was satisfied with the job and we probably saved about 50-60 % of what it would've cost. Sometimes the smile and handshake of job well done makes my job seem worthwhile.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I know its not always possible, interview the provider, is he likeable, trustworthy, does he make you feel confident that he can complete the task.
