I gave Ben a call for a surprise voice lesson for my mom...Ben was quick to reply, easy to get ahold of and very accommodating when it came to scheduling and traveling for the lesson. We planned on he and my mom singing some show-tunes and songs from fun musicals! Ben was an amazing instructor, coach and duet partner! My family all met him and loved his enthusiasm & talents! We are most definitely planning on hiring him again! Thanks Ben! XO

I've done 4 lessons with Ben so far and it's been great! He is a super warm and energetic person that gets me excited about my voice and growing my abilities! And I definitely feel that my singing has improved in this short time period with his help. I would definitely recommend him to others.

My first grader participated in a production with Ben Jammin through which she discovered a great love of theater. Later, Ben Jammin helped her to develop as a singer when she decided to perform in her school talent show. Ben is both talented in the arts and gifted as a teacher. He relates well to little children and grown ups alike and shares his passion in a way that is both fun and light, but yields serious results. We love Ben Jammin!

Ben Jammin ignited a fire in our daughter for EVERYTHING musical theater. Thanks in great part to his ongoing enthusiasm and encouragement, our daughter has grown into a highly confident, creative and extraordinary musical theater performer and choreographer.

Ben's a great, knowledgable and fun vocal coach that really caters to your needs, and then broadens your potential to things you never thought you could do. As a 21 year old male trying to be a pop/rock singer, in just a few short lessons he helped my range, breath support and overall tone improve drastically. Highly recommended if you're looking for good results quickly in improving your singing voice.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
$50 for one hour
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
A first voice lesson includes some basic vocal warm-ups and techniques, some chat to get to know one another and set goals, and the perusal and discussion of songs that you (your child) might be interested in singing.
A first acting lesson would include some basic acting techniques, the perusal of possible scenes and/or monologues, confidence building, and the discussion of goals. A casual, supportive atmosphere allows for maximum personal growth regardless of experience level.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As a youth, Ben attended classes in ballet, tap and jazz dance. He also studied method-acting though ACT’s youth outreach, classical singing at Tanglewood University, and professional opera as a boy soprano under maestro Eugene Masluk.
As a young man, Jammin continued pursuing his education in acting, dance, music, speech-communications, and improvisation both in junior college and at Hayward University, as well as Shakespeare Santa Cruz.
As a SPECTRA and freelance artist, Ben has taught performing-arts classes and produced dozens of musical productions and reviews at local public elementary and home schools, and also through outreach programs to bring performing-arts education to at-risk youth at Barrios Unidos and the Boys & Girls' Club.
Jammin was instrumental in the creation and running of non-profit Kids on Broadway from 1995–2007, and was Producing Artistic Director for Santa Cruz Performing Arts from 2007–2017. Since arriving on the Santa Cruz theatre scene in 1990, Ben has produced, choreographed, and directed more than a hundred recitals and full-scale musical productions.
