FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Most of my quotes are a discounted hourly rate to give a "package" price based on my past experiences and complexity of the project. I do this because if I didn't put a cap on the hours and initial price, a client could have the false belief of the work being less expensive than they budgeted for. This gives them the option to cut the initial work into necessities and add pieces as budget allows in the future. I also give discounts for bigger projects, and return clients. For example, if I am hired to do a logo, business card, web site and social media at the beginning, my price will be less per hour than if I did each piece separately over a longer time frame.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Every other semester I take at least one course to ensure I am using the most up to date practices in both design and web.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
To try avoiding sounding narcissistic, I was a manager for a wedding store and designed a better logo and web page than the three professionals we had hired. I decided to go to school to see if I was as talented as it seemed. Since, I've won 5 awards and a multitude of higher end clients.
