Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Ask questions! Ask how many other applicants are there for a particular home that you are considering applying for. Some landlords accept multiple applications for the same property, spending applicant application fees unnecessarily.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. If I had to describe it in one word that word would be "Responsive". The number one thing we hear out and about from tenants and owners is that they couldn't get anyone to call them back. We do call back and we do follow up when a follow up is necessary.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Our tenants! We work hard to build a good report from the beginning. We want them to feel like they can reach out to us when something needs addressed. We don't want them to defer their maintenance or not tell us when they are considering a new pet. We want them to be up front and honest with us so we can address issues that might become a problem if we are not aware.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. The question would probably be "how long will it take to rent out our home?" That's always a difficult question to answer because there are so many variables to it. We usually tell our clients that the market is still very good, there is not much in inventory right now which increases rent amounts and helps the properties to move quickly. We also caution that most tenants are saavy and know what the market value is of most homes they are interested in before even contacting us. As long as you are at market and have a clean, well maintained home, usually within the first few tours we usually have pending applications.
