I just moved to Bend Oregon in late August 2025, and after a few years hiatus I am back on thumbtack. I had jobs the past few years at a couple different tutor companies, so I did not require this app. I will not end a session early if we are not finished. I will do everything I can to help a student as much as I can. While others will make their promises, I follow through on mine, and have since 2003. I can keep students engaged and focused. My favorite part is the "I get it" that comes from students when they have that breakthrough moment!

We’ve been so impressed with Jeff. He tutors both math and English, and his strong knowledge of the ACT/SAT means he gives our daughter really valuable advice about what to focus on. Most importantly, he explains things in a way that’s clear and easy to understand, which has made a big difference in her confidence and preparation. Jeff was working with my son on getting ready for ACT this year. My son is a junior at high school. He is a good student, however, wasn't satisfied with his initial ACT score. We found Jeff through Thumbtack based on customer reviews. I'm glad we did. After several lessons with Jeff, my son's ACT score went 5 points up. Jeff is great about building lessons around subjects and topics that require more attention. The test taking strategies that he teaches are definitely very helpful. Jeff is very punctual and responsible. He was willing to accommodate my son's busy schedule. I highly recommend Jeff to students (and parents) who are looking for help with ACT and SAT.

We hired Jeff about 3 weeks prior to the ACT to help our son prepare. Jeff always came prepared with practice tests and reviewed several subject areas. Jeff relates well and understands high school age students. He helped our son focus on areas that would provide the greatest impact Our son's ACT score increased 3 points.
