We had to do extensive external repairs to our house including decks, beams/barge rafters, porch railing, siding, exterior trim, and deteriorated ceiling of the garage entry.James, the owner of Level + Plumb Construction, made a thorough evaluation of all the structures needing repairs, suggested several options and helped with choosing materials, including hardie siding and trim.James was able to provide subcontractors in timely manner for painting and gutter installation.During construction he kept us updated with photos and description of the work in progress when we were on vacation.All in all James exceeded our expectations in professionalism, reliability and integrity.We will entrust James with all our future projects if need be.

I highly recommend James of Level & Plumb Construction. I come from a family of tradesmen, so I know the amount of time spent preparing for a job directly relates to the quality of the final product. James met with me several times prior to starting work on my project and visited the job site several times before work commenced. He introduced me to the subcontractors on the project and walked around the job site with the both of us to ensure we understood and agreed to the scope of the project. His bid was thorough and well thought out. The work was completed in the time frame he outlined and too was of the quality I expected. James is a thoughtful, considerate, and organized contractor. It doesnt get any better.

It was a pleasure working with Level and Plumb Construction. They repaired dry rot areas in multiple decks on our house. One of the best contractors I have worked with, they met all commitments, the work was high quality, and great communication during the entire project. I would gladly hire them again.

A couple elements of the deck repairs were unexpected - like uncovering further rot requiring replacement of the beam and replacement parts for the wire railing requiring a couple weeks of shipping to arrive. We so appreciate working with customers that understand that repairs require navigating unexpected challenges. That is why we take pride in our communication and commitment to completing all repairs thoroughly and with integrity. In the end, we are so happy that the project was completed before your expected party!

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    I offer free in person consultations. After our initial meeting, I will generate a comprehensive estimate that will allow you to understand the full scope of work and budgeting numbers for special order features like vanities (that can range quite substantially in price). With these numbers we can revisit the project, confirm any items that may be dropped or are optional due to budget constraints. Once you are satisfied with the scope of work and want to schedule the remodel project, we require a 50% deposit to secure the spot in our calendar and order materials. I will be in consistent contact with you to offer support and advice so that when we arrive you feel ready for us to begin.
