Jeff was hired to build a chicken coop for us in the backyard. I had a general idea and plans for what I wanted. Jeff did a fantasic job of takng what I wanted and putting his own spin on it, making it better and suggesting ideas that I hadn't thought of that have been an awesome part of the coop design. The craftsmanship and attention to detail was A+++. Thanks Jeff!

Jessica and I have worked on quite a few projects together over the last few years. Such as graphic design, advertising, marketing, brand development and more. She's patient and is able to understand what I'm trying to accomplish, even at times I'm not sure what direction I want to take a project. She's very professional, while still being fun to work along side.

Sandra photographed my daughter's wedding on July 17th. She did a fantastic job. She arrived early to take pre-wedding shots of us getting ready. During the wedding she was everywhere in a non-obtrusive way by getting great shots without being noticeable. Then, during the reception, she, again, was everywhere. Didn't miss a thing! She was able to get great traditional shots and very beautiful cameos and non-traditional pictures. After the big day, she spent countless hours making sure the pictures were beautiful...correcting color, making some B&W, or using sepia. I am super delighted with her work! Would definitely recommend.

A worthwhile added expense to our building project! We are still working with Carol, but our experience so far has been fantastic. She knows the industry and her materials. Great to work with and she quickly picks up on tastes and styles. We are in love with our tiles, paint colors, and lighting fixtures. You will not be disappointed if you decide to hire her. Thank you Carol!!

We hired Rosie just over a year ago for an in-house position as a WordPress developer. As a developer myself, I worked alongside Rosie on many projects. She has proven to be a very competent developer, able to handle any task that you give to her quickly and effectively. She has also shown a great sense of design and the capacity to work with vector graphics, which has proven useful when modifying logos or vector icons. She has an excellent grasp of user experience concepts, and frequently offers suggestions and improvements. I would definitely recommend Rosie for any of your WordPress needs. You can expect a great outcome every time!

I could not have asked for a better experience working with a website designer than I had with Sree. After a couple of disappointing outcomes with other website designers, I was pleased at how responsive Sree and his team was to my particular needs. The process was efficient, on-schedule and professional throughout. They also have been consistently available for follow-up support from Eugene, Oregon. I highly recommend Sreeweb. - Martin A Lee

I have worked with 360 Videography's , and find they are very professional and fast at the task. They really listen to my needs and helped me with the right avenues that worked for me. I have used them in the past for web videos and would highly recommend them for your business. The video that Travis did for us helped bring in lots of new business that we never would have got without the public seeing what we do. Thanks 360 your awesome! Sincerely J C

        About

I specialize in custom illustrative logo design. One design reworked for a lot of different clients is not going to stand out, but that seems to be the ongoing trend. My design will make your company's mark stand out from the pack. I enjoy working with small start-ups, trying to create their identity, or established businesses looking for rebrand.

        About

Prior to computer design, when logos were hand inked and cut from film using “Xacto” knives, Jim began developing his process as a designer committed to originality. This has kept him loyal to using his creativity first, computer second. Macintosh computers have been a part of Jim’s design “toolbox” since they were first installed in caves. Jim has been through more software and computer upgrades than he would care to remember. Jim is passionate about developing simple, cost-effective branding solutions for his clients. He strongly professes, “Everything produced with respect to a logo is the marketing for a business”. When you ask Jim about choosing a logo design he will tell you, “It is vital that you choose an identity system that properly represents your business so customers are able to make informed decisions about whether to deal with you or one of your competitors”. Jim is also a dues paying, card carrying member of the "Rule of Simple Design" club. Jim states, "a simple graphic will get your business more recognition than a busy, over done logo." Further stated, "simple is memorable."

        Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

Why should you hire a web designer?

Your website is often the first thing your customers see when they’re searching for a business or service on the web. As the face of your organization, your website needs to be attractive and functional, offering the latest features that users now expect. To plan and design a site that both reflects your company’s mission and values and appeals to customers takes a professional web designer. While free online services can help people set up websites, web designers can provide a unique solution made specifically to meet customers’ personal or business needs.

Most web designers offer a wide variety of services to make your website aesthetically pleasing and easy to use. Modern web design must be mobile-friendly and scalable, capable of expanding to include a blog, social media sites, and even video streaming; web designers are experts at integrating various web technologies. They can build the site, add functionality, test it, launch it on a live server, and track and maintain its performance.

In addition to web design and graphic design, some web design providers also offer development and security services, including search engine optimization (SEO), social media marketing and management, logo design, site maintenance, domain registration and hosting, protection against malware, and digital marketing and content services.

        What do interior designers do?

Interior designers do much more than pick complementary paint colors and choose matching furniture — although those tasks are important parts of the job. Unlike decorators, interior designers usually have an associate of science degree or certificate of achievement in interior design from an accredited program. They’re trained in drafting, lighting and computer aided design (CAD), and are experts in room-specific design and residential space planning. Interior designers use these skills to plan and design safe, highly functional and beautiful interior spaces, from kitchens and bathrooms to family rooms and bedrooms. They determine space requirements, work within building codes and inspection regulations, and meet accessibility standards. An interior designer’s day-to-day job includes creative and technical tasks, both of which often require great communication skills:

        • Creating model rooms and visuals using design software.
        • Researching different textiles, materials, finishes, lighting and furniture.
        • Hiring suppliers, vendors, and contractors.
        • Estimating costs and making bids on potential jobs.

How do you find a good interior designer?

For many homeowners, the difference between a good interior designer and a bad one is simply a matter of taste — but all good designers have similar skill sets. Interior designers usually have a degree or certificate in interior design, with training in design principles and lighting, drafting, and computer aided design (CAD) software. Good interior designers have strong color balancing skills and understand how different colors influence spatial perception and moods. They know the building and electrical codes in the areas where they practice, and they make sure that any contractors they hire also work to those codes. They are knowledgeable about different upholstery fabrics and draperies, stay ahead of residential design trends, and maintain their own individual creativity. Also, good interior designers have excellent space designing skills, so they can arrange a space efficiently and with ideal traffic flow. Ultimately, hiring a good interior designer means pinpointing one whose signature style is complementary to your personal style — so checking out many designers’ portfolios is a must — and whose communication methods match yours.

What makes a good logo design?

A good logo is an easily identifiable, memorable image that represents your brand. A good logo design aligns with your business model and expresses your company’s core values. A good logo design is simple, appealing, and easy for customers and viewers to quickly process. Some of the key components of a great logo are type, color palette and design. The scale, font and arrangement of the text you select will all make a difference in the feel and representation of your brand. A graphic designer will help you home in on the colors that best represent your identity and help you keep the color palette simple. The design of your logo includes the shapes you select and the way the color and type are arranged together. Investing in the services of a professional to create your logo design is likely a smart investment for any size business. Nationally, the average price range for a logo designer ranges from $170 to $250.

How much do web designers charge?

The average cost for hiring a web designer varies greatly depending on the scope of the work, which may range from building a site from scratch to rebranding an existing one, as well as the amount of content and graphics the designer will create. In general, the more complex the project, the more time the design agency will have to spend. Because web designers often work on an hourly basis, the longer the project, the higher the costs; you can count on the web designer spending at minimum 10 hours to create a very basic website with just a handful of pages with few elements. Prices also depend on the designer’s skill set, the process, and the company’s rates. In general, the national average cost for a basic website package starts at $500, but a customized website can cost as much as $2,000 or more. Here are typical average hourly rates, broken out by the complexity of the work:

        • Basic layout and user interface: $15-$40 per hour
        • Content management system design: $20-$50 per hour
        • Custom website design with custom code: $45-$75 per hour
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
