Introduction: I spend extra time with each client making sure I use the music that they personally wish to have played at their event. I go over what they have planned and what they envision for their wedding and events to make sure they are happy. I ask about decor and the venue and on occasion go to view the location as well. If at all possible I will attend rehearsals. I want your wedding or event to be memorable and special. To make sure my clients are happy I try to be available to them by phone, texting and email should they have an immediate concern or question. Each person has value and should know that you are important to me as a person and not just as a client. The happiness that it brings to my clientele. Satisfaction in knowing that I have made a special day into one that everyone will remember.

Laura O.

Wedding DJ

DJ Sassy Patty did a wonderful job DJing my wedding. She play every song that I wanted and helped keep things on track. She easily rolled with the punches if something didn't go according to plan. She was fun to work with and I would highly recommend her to future customers!
DJ Sassy Patty's reply

Wedding DJ

Patty did my daughters wedding. She was awesome!!!! She took our wedding on short notice and made things run smoothly and professionally. She was like part of the family and settled into the process like she belonged there. There were great comments from our guests and a number of them asked me for her card. I would recommend her for any event where a DJ is needed.
DJ Sassy Patty's reply
Wow. With this and the so very nice personal note you sent me I am beyond words. I was so very honored to have been there and I am so happy that I was able to meet your expectations and help make their day special. I have to admit I believe that I have cried more than usual with this one.... but they were all good tears. Shoot I'm doing it again now LOL. What a fantastic group of sweet and caring people. I do hope we get a chance to meet up again. Somehow I'm fairly certain we will. Thank you thank you for welcoming me with open arms. I did feel right at home.

Sassy Patty was an incredible fit to DJ at our wedding. She went above and beyond to meet with us until we felt comfortable with our song choices. She arrived early to everything and she was incredibly punctual. Nothing went wrong at our wedding for rehearsal, ceremony, or reception. She is very friendly and shows great value in her work and value for us as a couple! We were very pleased, her work is affordable and above the quality we could have asked for! Thank you DJ Sassy Patty. It was a pleasure to work with you!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I charge a $200 nonrefundable retainer/deposit to hold the date. My base price is $750 and goes up from there depending on the event, hours needed, location and venue. Weddings start at a base rate of $950. Additional hours are $50 per. If I need to travel over approximately 30 miles I will assess the distance and potentially charge extra for that as well. I do not charge for preparation services or setup and tear down fees. However if I am required to set up and tear down more than once due to a wedding and reception (for example) being in two separate areas or locations then I will assess a $100 fee for each additional. Rehearsals for weddings are a minimum of $175. I do not charge extra to provide some minimal lighting or karaoke though I do charge extra for my amazing mirror ball set up.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have received the Thumbtack Best of 2015 and 2016 awards in addition to WeddingWire's 2021 Couple's Choice Award and The Knot's Best of 2021 Award. I am a trained musician and classically trained vocalist. I have participated in thousands of weddings from multiple angles in my lifetime as well as many other events and parties. I worked as assistant and paralegal to the North Marion County Justice of the Peace and also as a church secretary for a large congregation church. I constantly keep informed of updates to music equipment, professional DJ software and technology. I stay subscribed to various DJ training programs as well as DJ subscriptions regarding current events and technology. I stay on top of current top music and trends.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

With my background in music and performance as well as working in churches and the legal field with a judge/justice of the peace it was only natural. I went to college for music performance and education. At the time it happened I wasn't even thinking about becoming a DJ but a good friend of mine took the time to convince me it was a good idea. Boy did I laugh but look at me today. I would have never thought I would be doing this 22 years ago. I'm good at what I do and I couldn't be happier.
