About this pro

How does your business stand out?

My images are sharp but dreamy, and have emotion in them. I don't believe that every photo needs to have a family lined up staring at my lens so I do my best to make my clients feel comfortable and to give them some interaction and direction.

What do you enjoy about the work you do?

The thing I love most about photography is showing others what I see. Being able to boost someone's confidence because the REALLLY ARE beautiful.

I am just a bit prejudiced as April is my daughter but I have watched her grow and develop her talent as a photographer for the past 4 years or so and she is amazing. She has always had an artistic gift but she has now found her passion in photography to share her gift with the world! You will not be disappointed trusting April with your wedding, maternity, newborn, high school pics or more. Her specialty.... unusual locations and unique props to showcase you!

April has taken our photos for over 3 years now. She is easy going, respectful, and has a great eye! Our photos are timeless images that we can proudly display for years to come. She has captured some precious moments in our life's as our family has evolved. We will continue to use her as our family's photographer for years to come.

For the bride who really didn't even want pictures, this experience completely changed my mind. I didn't want to spend hours fake posing and wasting the time we could be enjoying our guests and party. Well this was soo not what I was picturing . She got the best pictures of us being ... Us! Laughing, loving, being serious, being silly and we now have the best memories we can't reflect back on and put in frames! The pictures are still beautiful and spread all over the house. April changed my mind about my idea of picture taking!

Q&A

How did you get started doing this type of work?
I'm and artist, and this is instant art. I got my first camera when my baby girl was born and then of course everyone pushed me to keep going.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Senior Portraits and boudoir photography. I'm lucky I have a great studio for boudoir and I think my style appeals to a lot of the highschool seniors.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Do your research and if you are hiring a photographer for an event, meet with them first. Sometimes it just isn't a good fit and that is important.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I wish they knew how much actual time I spend on a photo session. That it doesn't just end with the click of a button, and that I really do care that they get the best images possible. That my prices are my prices because of this and because I have spent thousands of dollars on equipment and studio space to make this possible.
