Jen is a warm and compassionate person, and a skilled counselor for couples/families and individuals alike. Her Emotion-Focused Therapy background really helps couples understand each other's feelings and find new ways of communicating.
Scott is pragmatic, supportive, empathic and knowledgeable about the numerous issues we've brought to him. He draws from a multitude of paradigms to offer his best assessment and understanding of what he is observing and hearing. He has also helped us to come up with simple, practical and doable self-interventions to "try at home." Whether you are seeking a deep dive or tune-up, I would definitely recommend Scott for couples counseling.
My experience with Terry Daggett was one of the best of my life. We really clicked as a therapist/patient couple. It's possible if I wouldn't have met Terry, I wouldn't have any kind of relationship with my mother... but today she is my best friend. I never thought that to be possible. Terry helped me look inside myself and at relationships to help make them better. Amazing work. Wish I was still near her to see her today.
Freedom lives her yoga on and off the mat. She intermingles her beauty, her philosophy and a well thought out physical practice with a balance of both soothing and strong moving asanas. Freedom is a beautiful and unique instructor who deeply cares for her students.
Dana is a blessing in my life. I have searched for her for a long time. I have tried many different therapists and never felt that they could quite grasp me or keep up with my ever changing thoughts, it is not easy but Dana does it with ease. Every time I finish a session I feel lighter, energized and clear. It is hard to put into words how grateful I am for her support. She is extremely good at what she does and truly cares. She has helped me tremendously.
My husband and I did marriage counseling with Jay and really enjoyed it. We were long distance so our situation was unique but he did a great job and we used Skype so it felt like we were still there. We really liked all the quizzes and resources he gave us. Things came up that we didn't even think about before and he focused on our differences to make sure we could work through things together. We learned a lot about each other which was great. It really helped prepare us for marriage.
Shantika is a skilled professional and a compassionate healer. I have found her emphasis on addressing feelings through the body is an excellent adjunct to traditional talk therapy in my own personal growth work. She uses a range of modalities that are very effective, but not as well know in the US - Family Constellation and Rosen, in particular. She is also an excellent massage therapist if the issue is simply sore or tight muscles.
Aaron has a warm, collaborative and disarming presence. He is able to truly understand and empathize with his clients so that they can work on their issues with his kind and compassionate presence. I have worked along side Arron as his co-counselor with couples and in the capacity of co-facilitating Compassionate Communication groups. I highly recommend him as askilled therapist to anyone looking to improve their lives.
After evaluating the responses on Thumbtack, I found that Refresh Therapy, Inc was just the fit for the situation that was needing to be addressed.
I have always been a hopeful person, but a little over a year ago I wasn't certain that I would be able to rise above what felt like this unsurmountable pit of post traumatic hell. I felt that I would be swallowed alive and was slowly being absorbed by it. The pain of my past was chasing me into a corner everyday and even though I was now surrounded by those who deeply love and care about me, I felt alone by my experiences, and stark differences in my day to day survival. I knew I needed help, and I knew that even though I was terrified I couldn't do it alone. After scheduling, and rescheduling out of fear, I finally made it to Krystal's office. I didn't know what to expect, but I felt like i was on the verge of breaking and with tears in my eyes I shared why I was there. I never could have anticipated a warmer reception than the welcome I received from Krystal that day, and each day there after. The routine I would come to know and cherish with the work that I would do in and out of our sessions was subtle, and I remember feeling a little better, and a little more at peace in my heart after each time shared. The immense shift and turn around has been an amazing blessing to my life, and I know that I would not have been able to do it with out Krystal. Her authentic and natural ability to create a sacred space for healing to evolve in, is genuine in every sense of the word. And unlike many other Therapists I'd seen in the past, I know with out a shadow of a doubt that this, is Krystal's calling. I enjoy Be Kind Counseling because with out it I would never have come to deeply understand that I really am the author of my life, and that I have the ability to write and rewrite my story as beautifully and as safely as I see suitable. Krystal's therapy have allowed me to delve into all areas I am passionate about with confidence, and my sessions have given me the focus to work towards my goals. I have re found my voice, and am using it. And to me that is priceless. As my healing journey continues with Krystal and through the help of her sessions; I am grateful to look back and see such significant growth within myself. I look forward to that which I know is lighting the path ahead of me guiding me deeper into my strengths. A kindness I now recognize as necessary to not only allocate towards every one around me ( that I had a pretty great handle on), but kindness that I can allocate towards myself. To sum up my experience. always supportive, always compassionate, always kind That is, Be Kind Counseling
In short, Sarah is hands down one of the best therapists I have ever had! She is professional, compassionate, and obviously skilled at what she does. You might even say she is truly gifted! She listens well and has a unique ability to interpret what has been said. She then lays it out in a nice tidy concise way in which it allows you to make self discoveries and growth on your own terms! I highly recommend her as an individual and/or couples therapist. Her natural abilities to empathize make you feel comfortable to share and at the end of the session feel validated and clear headed!
There are so many counselors, healers, therapists, lifestyle gurus and professional advice-givers out there that it's easy to feel overwhelmed by all the choices. As a mother of three, I've spent who knows how much time and money looking for effective support for my family's health, only to find superficial, time consuming programs that may produce short-lived results (that require constant re-upping to maintain any effectiveness), but never really get to the heart of what we need. Nothing I've tried has come close to the kind of immediate, deep affect that working with Krista has provided. Her methods are so gentle and intuitive that it's hard to believe the powerful results. Within a week of our first hour-long session, my energy and sense of well-being were raised dramatically. I felt clearer and more confident in my body's ability to heal and was amazed when the results started reaching beyond the original issue for which I had sought her out. Five years later, I don't hesitate to turn to Krista first for all of my and my family's health questions, from nutrition to mental/emotional and relationship dilemmas. Her compassionate manner and truly holistic approach have given me the support I've needed to overcome blocks and reach my goals, without the confusing and often guilt-inducing yo-yo effect I've experienced with other practitioners. She understands that our lives aren't cookie-cutter and our issues aren't compartmentalized, and so is able to invest in the whole client and get to the actual root of a problem, instead of just temporarily easing the symptoms. If you've tried all the healthy living fads, diet programs, all the different therapies, alternative and conventional, and are still feeling stuck, please set up an appointment with Krista, and get ready for a breakthrough!

I'm committed to the best possible care for my clients. To me this means that I'm focused not only on outcomes but also process - ensuring that clients feel as though they are progressing towards their goals, that they are learning about themselves and their relationships, and that they are gaining and implementing effective tools for life. I want to make sure that what we do together is sustainable, realistic, and achievable. When obstacles appear, I'm not afraid of identifying and tackling them in order to reduce the chances of falling back into old, destructive patterns. Finally, I have a high standard for the work that I do because I recognize that others' lives and relationships are being affected by the counseling process.

These approaches include; Acceptance and Commitment Therapy techniques, Family Systems Theory, CBT, Attachment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Collaborative Problem Solving emotionally-focused techniques and trauma-based approaches. In my role, I support clients with identifying the source of struggles, and learning effective ways to manage symptoms and develop their own meaning of success. I aim to provide a space for them to explore what is and is not working and to develop tools that assist them in moving toward a better overall quality of life. I work with clients to provide them a safe space to check in, explore and process life's struggles. Over the years, I have been able to build strong relationships with community mental health providers, state agencies, educational and court systems in Washington, Multnomah and Clackamas Counties. I have worked directly with providers at many levels of care including day treatment, psychiatric residential, and state hospital. I meet my clients on a humanistic, relational level.
Have you lost interest in the things you used to enjoy? Do you feel you've lost your energy or "spark"? Do you and your partner feel more like roommates than lovers? Are you concerned about your child's behavior? It is not easy to balance the emotional pressure of life's challenges with daily demands. Often, people feel defined by their struggles and lose sight of themselves within. It is important to take the time to check-in with yourself--to get back to you. From a place of self-care and understanding, great work can be done. Today is a good day to start feeling better. Call me, tell me what I can do for you and we'll go from there. I serve individuals, couples, families and children with a fully equipped Play-Therapy room. Offering affordable mental health care to the community is important to me. I have a sliding-fee scale to fit most budgets. Knowing your comfort level is key to this process, I am also happy to offer a free consultation as well.
