He talked me through various options and helped me choose the final material of stone tiles for the threshold of my fireplace. I started this project with low expectations, imaging that I would just replace the old broken ceramic tiles with new ones. Daniel helped me see the potential to use natural looking stone tiles to elevate the threshold making it look more formal while still blending into the existing look of the 1913 fireplace. Daniel texted me ideas that he found and he worked hard to track down a stone tile that he thought would work well. We set a time for the install and Daniel called me letting me know he was going to be 10 minutes late because he was still getting materials--I appreciated that! Install went smoothly although it was a bit tricky due to a non-level surface and an area that was not quite a true rectangle (old homes!). Daniel was able to work with it and leveled out the surface and cut the stones individually to fit, with the end product being beyond my expectations. I am very pleased with how this project went! Daniel is truly a craftsman and not just someone who is going to do a quick and sloppy job. He has great ideas and the experience and intelligence to make them work in the real world when things are not as straightforward. Furthermore, Daniel displayed great attention to details and checked in with me as he made critical decisions during the installation. I would certainly use him again for any future tiling jobs in my old bungalow. "See more
