My girlfriend and I are both relatively new to firearms. Both of us had been recreational shooting with friends twice, but never received any proper training. We recently decided we wanted to buy a gun for home defense and for recreational shooting. However, we first wanted to get adequate training for safety reasons, and also wanted some experience handling different firearms to help us make our decision about what to get. Furthermore, I would like to note that due to my work schedule, my girlfriend is often home alone at night while I’m at work, and we both believe that if anything ever happened, it would be best if she had training she could fall back on rather than having to figure out what to do in the moment. Our training with Yonty turned out to not only be incredibly valuable but also a lot of fun. Yonty’s class was very thorough and covered operating, aiming, and firing of different types of firearms as well as proper stance, concealment, and threat response tactics. I would say my favorite part of the course though, and the most valuable was the live fire exercises/drills that Yonty had us do. Although the course was short, I now feel like I would know how to respond and how to function in most threat situations. If you are new to firearms, or are even an experienced shooter who is looking for more training, I would highly recommend one of Yonty’s classes. He is thorough, safety conscious, has expert knowledge on all topics relating to firearms, defense tactics, and security, and is also great at teaching and explaining. I think anyone who takes his courses will feel they walked away with more knowledge, confidence, and instinct when it comes to using a firearm.
I took the self defense class from Mitchell and now feel more confident than perhaps I should. But I would still be going myself if I didn't have personal problems. However, I was so impressed with this class and the instructor that I decided to sign my kids (8 and 10) up and they have been going now for more than six months and not only do they love it, but I love how I am able to integrate pieces of class into our daily lives to smooth some areas. And I now have confidence that my children will be able to protect themselves from most who mean them harm, or at least be able to talk about it. The only thing I must practice patience about is that Mitch can sometimes be easily distracted and go in a different direction than expected, but it is still generally informative. I would and do recommend Mitchell Pennell"s self defense class for any- and everyone.

It is a big decision to join a Martial Arts school. The head instructor is everything. Sifu Cropper and the other students made us feel welcome. We love our Kajukenbo because there are 5 arts in one. Great job and thank you for teaching our children self defense.

JT is a great trainer. He's very motivating and holds you accountable which is something I need. He is firm but compassionate. I would definitely recommend him. He can handle any type of person, whether you're just starting out or a seasoned worker-outer... And any personality because I generally cuss him up one side and down the other and he's ok with that. :)

Working with Coach Chris at Forge Fitness has been one of the best experiences I've ever had with a fitness trainer as well as a self defense trainer. Coach Chris has an amazing talent of being able to push me Just enough. He is quietly encouraging and in no way intimidating. He helps the overall person. He is very observant and can tell when you've had enough and when you need to keep going. If you are looking for a buffed out meathead how shows off how awesome he is while counting your jumping jacks and shouting at you then Coach Chris is not your guy. But if you've come to a point where you've tried everything else and are now realizing that you need to put in the work to get the results and you just need some guidance from someone who really cares, then look no further. Coach Chris will help you get there and will help you realize that you can do it. When I first began with Chris, I had never been able to do a single push-up, now I can do 150! She's very patient and presents the material in an easy to understand, step by step manner that doesn't overwhelm. Her self defense techniques are easy to learn but very effective against larger and stronger opponents.

I am passionate about a healthy diet , proper weight , exercise which includes cardio and weight training . I have 38 years of expereince. I am a trainer who pushes . Form is an absolute . I am careful to not over train and feel that muscles and " fat " respond well to variety . It's more fun and keeps up the desire to keep going. Self defense for women is an option .
