I trained with Alberto for about a year before I moved to a different state. I enjoyed working with him because even though the workouts were challenging they were always fun and different. Alberto had a great attitude, always positive, completely focused, and very knowledgeable. I learned that my training wasnt just in the gym and what I learned from him could also be applied to the rest of my life. He never accepted excuses but was flexible enough to adjust his programs to fit my forever changing goals. He was always willing to answer questions and was able to work with me and make it work for my schedule. So not only does he train you to be a better athlete and healthier he pushes you to be a more rounded person.
Our family has driven 20 miles, twice a week, for over eight years, to study and practice kajukenbo karate under the kind and compassionate guidance of Situ Rick Cropper. He's one of few seventh degree black belt's in this precise martial art. Cropper takes this art seriously, trains his students hard, and teaches them this life skill in an uncompromising fashion with emphasis on sparring, forms and general mental and physical fitness. We've encouraged friends and family to study under him as well. If searching for a martial arts academy, look no further.
Brian is an amazing trainer. Not only does he know his stuff when it comes to working out but also as an MMA fighter and jujitsu teacher. Bryan Nuro is the best in the business, if you're looking for an amazing teacher and looking to get incredible results, look no further. I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank Brian for improving my ground game and opening my world to Brazilian jujitsu!
Training with Cody was such a great experience!!! He is so organized which really helped keep me accountable. On top of our creative and fun workouts he provided nutrition advice and worked with me on my flexibility issues which was really important to me. We would spend a few minutes at each session checking in and going over my efforts between sessions which really helped me make better choices when he wasn't around! When I met him four years ago he was managing a gym at 18 years old! I was surprised and underestimated his skill level because of his age. Since then he's only improved. He spends so much time learning and giving everything he can to provide the best experience for his clients. This was true for myself and his other clients that I had the opportunity to meet. Now he's built his own gym and created his own business so his clients can have an even better experience. He's got it figured out and is only getting better. Training with anyone can feel expensive, but the return on investment with Cody is huge!
Jeff is an excellent martial arts teacher. He takes a concept, like punching or rapier and shows it many ways. He takes a hands on approach and helps students hold the sword. During the last rapier class Jeff moved a little quickly through some material that was very new to some other folks. If he could slow down on explaining some rapier drills, that might be good. But, Jeff makes a difference. I use what I learn in class about martial arts, spatial awareness, and strategy during my day. I enjoy going to Academia Duellatoria
I took the self defense class from Mitchell and now feel more confident than perhaps I should. But I would still be going myself if I didn't have personal problems. However, I was so impressed with this class and the instructor that I decided to sign my kids (8 and 10) up and they have been going now for more than six months and not only do they love it, but I love how I am able to integrate pieces of class into our daily lives to smooth some areas. And I now have confidence that my children will be able to protect themselves from most who mean them harm, or at least be able to talk about it. The only thing I must practice patience about is that Mitch can sometimes be easily distracted and go in a different direction than expected, but it is still generally informative. I would and do recommend Mitchell Pennell"s self defense class for any- and everyone.
Don is one of the most patient and understanding people I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. He is very skilled, dedicated to his craft, and a great mentor for all ages. I highly recommend anybody from beginner to expert to train under Don!
Allow me to be the first to recommend Guru Angie! I always find her training sessions to be fun and informative. She's very patient and presents the material in an easy to understand, step by step manner that doesn't overwhelm. Her self defense techniques are easy to learn but very effective against larger and stronger opponents.
We were looking for a dojo for our daughter to continue her karate training when I found Seishinkan Karate On Main. Much to my surprise Sensei Ellis answered the phone and spent time to talk with me about his dojo, asked about our daughter, and set up an appointment right away for us to come in and meet. After our meeting we signed up for a 2 month trial, our daughter knew after the first week she wanted to join. Sensei Ellis goes out of his way to acknowledge each student each day they come in to train. It is obvious to me that Sensei Ellis not only enjoys what he is shares with his students, he enjoys his students.
Head instructor is Fabiano Scherner, multiple time world champion Brasilian Jiu Jitsu black belt. Awesome team, has a large number of blue, purple, brown and black belts that left other gyms to train there. Everyone super friendly and really into helping out beginners. Fun place to workout. Also it is in the same building as a weight lifting gym that gives a huge discount

Small class sizes, accountability, and both physical and mental support from the staff and owners set Fierce Fitness apart from the other clubs. You will never work out harder and have so much fun doing it. Kickboxing fitness has been proven to be one of the best total body workouts you can find. However, there are many variations of kickboxing programs, most are only focused on low-impact aerobic activity and do not actually teach you martial arts and kickboxing fighting techniques as part of the training. While those programs can get your heart rate up, they certainly won't teach you what it feels like to really kick or punch something or even how to do it properly. In Fierce Fitness Kickboxing, not only do you get a fantastic aerobic workout, but you also build strong, toned muscles, strengthen bones, improve balance and coordination, and learn how to defend yourself using kicks, punches, elbows, and knees. That's why we say, "It's more than just fitness." At Fierce Fitness, we know how important it is to stay motivated to workout. Our program is safe, effective, and most of all, fun. We incorporate so many different types of exercises in our proven system, that it's almost impossible to get bored! Most of all, anyone can do it, any level of fitness, and any age.
