To say Corey has changed my life might be an understatement. I've been battling chronic migraines for almost 10 years now, on top of TMJ pain, whiplash accidents and multiple concussions, my body was in a constant state of discomfort and pain. Exhausted of being pumped full of drugs for the sake of short term relief, doctors pretty much told me I was SOL unless I wanted to continue being a test subject to whatever pill came out next, or surgery for my jaw. I felt like I've tried everything; specialists, acupuncture, chiropractor, physical therapy, etc. I basically convinced myself that this was my life now and to buckle up for the challenging ride of living with chronic pain and accept it as normal, after all, there's nothing more that could be done, right?... Corey has been the first person to tell me that I CAN and WILL be able to find relief (excuse me, what?!), he's been the first person willing to work with me and show me that I'm not a lost cause. I don't quite understand his line of work, but you can feel the passion he has for it, and the passion for caring for others. He is always willing to pause what he's doing and explain the "why" behind things. It's super fascinating and I learn so much each session. I feel like a completely new person. Each day I'm in awe that I can live without pain, for so long I had no idea what that would feel like. I recommend Thrive to anyone and everyone. In your session you can expect honesty, professionalism, care, and a few corny jokes from time to time ;) THANK YOU!
Logan is an incredibly gifted healer. He listens to his patients - on verbal and nonverbal levels - and is both knowledgeable and intuitive. I had almost immediate results with managing pain from a car accident through Logan's acupuncture treatments and the herbs are getting to the root of some health issues I've had for many years. I am grateful he is my practitioner; it is impossible to over-recommend Logan!
Richard Pope is an excellent acupuncturist and massage therapist, who has developed a way to utilize both of these modalities in one session to help the patient. Richard has an almost uncanny way of finding exactly where your pain or other issue is coming from, and then addresses it as close to the root of the issue as possible. For example, with back pain in my own case, he was able to trace along the muscles (and energy meridians as well I suspect) to find these hard lumps that had formed in the muscles and which were causing a large amount of pain. Over a few treatments these lumps were loosened and the pain was nearly gone. As an acupuncturist, I recommend Richard for any kind of issue you might have. For example, Richard introduced me to how a cold can be either completely averted or at least the symptoms lessened if you get an acupuncture treatment just as you start to feel it coming on. I met Richard while he was in his final year of acupuncture college, and ever since then have found him to be very helpful with all kinds of issues. I highly recommend that you try Richard's services.
Christine helped to relieve pain in both my elbow and knee from injury, as well as some chronic back pain. I'd never had acupuncture before, and she made me feel comfortable. Christine has used a variety of techniques with me including acupuncture, cupping and scraping. Cupping is my favorite! She's very knowledgable, and has a lot of other suggestions for making your body perform and feel better on a daily basis.
Daniel’s deep, calming spirit facilitates the healing process. He uses his skills and knowledge to customize treatments for his patients that make a difference.
I am a HUGE chicken when it comes to needles! But given enough discomfort from scarring after surgery, and I was willing to let Samantha talk me into acupuncture. She is brilliant! She told me to close my eyes and she would take care of me. I cannot believe I would HIGHLY suggest you give her a chance - she seriously changed my mind, my life, and my outlook!
I love Regenia's combination of acupuncture and intuitive energy work. I have been seeing Regenia for 8 years. She has helped me with everything from tendinitis to emotional/spiritual issues. She is approachable, gentle, highly skilled and I always feel better; more grounded and refreshed after a treatment.
If I told you that Dogwood City was saving my life, I'm not even sure that'd be doing it justice. I've tried several different acupuncturists, and nobody has been able to give me genuine pain relief until I saw Kait. So strongly recommend.
I include bodywork and accessory therapies - massage, foot reflexology, cupping or gua sha - in ALL my sessions and I know how to bill for it if your insurance allows. I also focus on long term health and wellness beyond helping you resolve current issues.

I come from a western medical background, and I have been in practicing traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) since 1993. As I have matured as a healer, my spiritual path has led me to more holistic forms of healing and being. In my private practice, I keep an open mind and stay abreast with the modern applications of this ancient healing art. Having a strong background in western medicine, I am naturally curious concerning the relationship between Eastern and Western medicine, and seek to understand how they can complement each other. I am part owner of a healing arts center called Opening To Life. I maintain my private practice in this beautiful building on the NE side of Portland, accessible from I-84 and I-5. It is my treatment practice preference to schedule only one person at a time. By doing so, this creates an opportunity where you can be fully heard and where you will receive my undivided attention. This time, intensive arrangement reflects my deepening commitment to this healing art. You can find your balance, optimize your level of wellness, experience the benefits and glow of your own radiant good health and well-being. My specialties include: Pain Management (both acute and chronic) Women's Medicine Emotional Centering Chinese Herbs and Supplements Respiratory Conditions Counseling Dance and Sports Injuries Auto Claims My services include insurance billing.
