About
I have been residing in Portland, Oregon for over a decade now. In that time, I have held DJ residencies in both clubs and bars in the downtown area.
When I got married at Edgefield in 2015, we had a terrible experience with our wedding DJ. And after attending multiple weddings for friends and family over the years, I noticed that the DJ problem was not unique to my wedding. Out of touch DJs at important events were a common theme.
Since starting a family of my own, I have enjoyed growing in my DJ career, and have transitioned from bars and clubs to weddings and events. I enjoy the craft, and have found that I do not come with the typical DJ baggage. I don’t have an ego, and that helps me better connect with the unique needs of each event. I dress for the occasion, I am equipped at MCing any gathering, I know how to get the party started. And even more importantly. I know how to keep the people on the dance floor.

We had a smaller wedding with approx. 60 guests, and I was worried that the dance floor would be empty the entire time. That was definitely not a problem with the music that Alec was picking all night. He asked when we booked him for us to make a playlist of songs we would like to hear so myself and my maid of honor created that playlist.
He did a fantastic job of curating the right moments for the right songs. He was also very attentive to what music people were enjoying and what they weren't. We noticed he threw a couple songs in that weren't on the playlist, but fit in so well with the vibe that my MOH and I both thought the other added the song.
People were dancing from the start of the night during cocktail hour, right until the very end. Every age range seemed to enjoy it, from my 15 year old sisters in law, the bridesmaids and groomsmen, and especially the moms and my boss. The latter was dancing all night until her husband dragged her away! The night manager at the venue said to my mom that we had a fantastic dj.
The cues for the ceremony were all perfect. He was very relaxed and helped us keep the stress free environment we were trying to create. Good communication and very good emcee'ing skills during speeches, even if there was a few mic issues. He handled them quickly and got us right back on track. It was a pleasure to have him as part of our big day.

Alec was amazing! We had an outdoor wedding and Alec came and set everything up and ran the flow of the MCing perfectly. We stayed on time and even when there were adjustments to the timeline he handled it like a pro! He also did a great job getting through our speeches, the microphone and sound quality were great and very smooth. We loved all the music he played and he was really good at reading the crowd! We could not have been happier!
