About
What sets my handyman service apart is a commitment to doing the job right the first time. I don’t rush work, cut corners, or disappear halfway through a project. I treat every home like it’s my own—showing up on time, communicating clearly, and delivering clean, durable results you can trust.
I bring a problem-solver’s mindset to every job. If something isn’t straightforward, I’ll find the best solution, explain your options honestly, and make sure the repair or install is done safely and correctly. From small fixes to larger projects, I focus on quality craftsmanship, attention to detail, and leaving your space better than I found it.
Most importantly, I take pride in my work and my reputation. That means fair pricing, respect for your time and property, and workmanship you can feel confident recommending to friends and family.

He can be honest and tell the truth instead of lying. The fee he initially quoted was $200. For this, he spent roughly an hour removing a pick up truck load of articles from our garage. He then said that because there were a few old paint cans (6 at most) the waste disposal fee would be high. I asked him if he would send me the invoice and I would reimburse him for that. He said he was certain based on past experience that the disposal fee would be $200 and he wanted to be paid up front. I paid it to him but asked him to send me the paperwork the next day. All I got was a receipt showing I had paid him $400. When I asked for a copy of the disposal fee document, a public record, he falsely stated this was his private business record and he refused to provide it. He also refused to identify the facility where he allegedly dumped the materials. Based on the Thumbtack guarantee, I request to be reimbursed for the undocumented $200 disposal fee.
Details: Large items to haul • Mixed trash • Enough to fill one pickup truck • There are no flights of stairs
Mr Fixit LLC's reply
I’m sorry that we were unable to come to an agreement regarding this job, but several statements in this review are inaccurate and deserve clarification.
The original service quote covered the removal labor only. As clearly stated in our Thumbtack Rates section, disposal fees are separate and are subject to change based on the size of the load and the types of materials being disposed of.
Before hauling anything away, I personally evaluated the volume and contents of the load and quoted the disposal fee based on my experience with local disposal costs. That fee was discussed before disposal, and you agreed to it before the materials were hauled away.
The load was not simply “a pickup truck load.” It consisted of an overfilled 5’ × 8’ × 3’ utility trailer, with additional items that would not fit in the trailer and had to be transported in the pickup truck as well.
The review also mentions only “six old paint cans.” While there were approximately six one-gallon paint containers, there were also more than twenty pint-sized paint containers packed in a box, along with other materials that affected disposal costs. In terms of legal and safe disposal, paint is considered a hazardous material and requires specialized disposal at a separate cost to regular refuse.
Additionally, the scope of work was greater than described. Upon arrival, I was asked to remove items from multiple locations throughout the property, including the garage and backyard. This included digging out a dirt-covered canopy frame and a wheelbarrow that were buried beneath a large bush. I completed this additional work without increasing the labor charge.
There also appears to be a misunderstanding about how my business prices disposal. I operate a service business, not a reimbursement or pass-through billing service. I never represented that disposal would be billed at my exact cost or that I would provide disposal services at my cost. I quoted a disposal fee based on my professional assessment of the load, the materials involved, transportation, handling, and my experience with disposal costs. You accepted that quoted amount before the job was completed. My obligation was to remove and properly dispose of the materials for the agreed-upon price, and that service was performed in full.
After the job, our discussions unfortunately shifted away from resolving the disagreement. I was informed that you were a retired attorney, litigation was repeatedly referenced, and I was accused of taking advantage of elderly customers. I respectfully disagree with those characterizations. I remained professional throughout our communications and stand by both my work and the terms that were disclosed before the job was performed.
I take pride in treating every customer fairly and honestly, and I encourage prospective customers to read my other reviews, which reflect the quality of service and integrity I strive to provide on every job.
