It's a pleasure to work with Joy at her healing center in LO. She's both skilled and sensitive when applying treatment. I'm looking forward to my next visit.Apr 5, 2017Verified
I was a bit apprehensive about trying Acupuncture. I had heard of people having excellent results from their experiences. I found Joy an absolute pleasure. She explained everything that she was doing, prior to performing the Acupuncture. The best part was the warm welcome I received when I arrived. She talked with me, asking about my health history, and what I was expecting from my visit. I felt really good after I left, and I am looking forward to my next visit.Mar 25, 2017Verified
Really appreciate the time Joy took to listen to my story and gather the information. The treatment she created was very intuitive & effective.Jul 7, 2016Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I am an in network provider for most insurance companies and also except auto accident cases. If you're not sure if your insurance covers acupuncture, I can help you find out.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I spend about an hour and a half on the first visit and review your health history and all your concerns. During that time, I'll develop a treatment plan and let you know what to expect during your care. There's time for any questions you may have and I'll use the information I get from your exam to customize your care to your specific needs.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I earned a Master of Science degree in Oriental Medicine from the Traditional Chinese Medical College of Hawaii's 4 year program. I'm licensed in Oregon and Hawaii and am nationally board certified by NCCAOM in the areas of Acupuncture, Biomedicine, Oriental Medicine, and Chinese Herbal Medicine. In addition, I trained in the NADA (National Acupuncture Detoxification Association) protocol for the treatment of behavioral health issues including addictions (smoking, compulsive eating, withdrawal, etc.), mental health, and disaster & emotional trauma, and PTSD. I am a certified Kiso practitioner and am trained in the Acutonics method of tuning fork sound healing. I continue my education through study of neurobiology, Chinese herbal prescription formulation, classical acupuncture, and mind-body healing including the new field of epigenetics, the science of how environment and belief affects biology. I also completed a year long post-graduate course in Dr.Qin Bo-Wei's classical precision prescription formulation under the guidance of Jason Blalack L.Ac.
