FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I’ve always enjoyed cleaning but professionally I started cleaning by fluke. A friend needed someone to fill in for her commercial cleaning job and once I filled in for her I then became the on call janitor for a company cleaning banks at night. That lead to becoming a full time employee with that company where I was responsible for 5-6 banks nightly 6 days a week and from there I decided to start cleaning residential homes. I enjoy having the space and outlet to focus my attention too. Cleaning is cleansing and it feels good to me to make someone else’s space sparkle and shine. Cleaning for me is rewarding.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Cleaning refrigerators. No one ever enjoys emptying and dismantling a fridge in order to fully clean it out. I do! Recently I was doing a move out clean. The fridge hadn’t been cleaned in who knows how long, it was emptied already for the most part, but what was left I took out and then removed all the shelves, drawers and door braces; sprayed the fridge and left to sit for 30 minutes, loaded the removable pieces into the dishwasher and ran it, the pieces that wouldn’t fit went into the tub for a scrub, while the washer was running I wiped out the fridge and freezer replaced the pieces back to the fridge and carried on to the oven. Total time 1 hour give or take.
