- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I base my pricing off a number of variables including scope, usage rights, timeline, and more. As far as my time, that portion includes research, concepting, ideation, client meetings and communication, design/illustration, file preparation, and a specified number of presentation rounds with the client, agreed to in our mutual contract.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I seek to understand everything I can about the client's business – purpose, values, mission, clientele, products/services, etc. This in-depth Q&A session gives me a better sense of who the client is, what they seek, and what they are problem-solving for.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 15 years of experience in the world of design, and have been illustrating since I was old enough to hold a pencil. ;) Beyond formal training and practical career work, I make a point to continuously educate myself by taking continuing education courses to round out my skill set. These have included motion graphics, 3D design, screenprinting, letterpress, knitwear design, ceramics, web design, digital strategies, etc.
