FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes- there are constantly changes made in our industry that I track from lighting options (LED) to fabric trends. It is also important for me to stay current with construction codes as they effect remodels.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I got my feet wet in residential real estate on my first job out of college. I was hired as a temp to work in accounts payable and responsible for construction draws for a subdivision developer. From there I worked for a bank in mortgage lending and eventually became a mortgage broker. After a mommy hiatus raising twin boys I started flipping houses in the early 2000's. Once the risk became too crazy to flip, I parlayed my expertise and art degree into interior design. I am lucky enough to have both the construction background and art degree to make me a well rounded designer.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Most of my interior jobs include a little remodeling and furnishing the spaces after. I also consult with real estate agents on owner occupied houses for staging.
