Ellie, was very user-friendly and easy to work with. She wanted to do the best she could to make our group have the best experience from the first time I talked to her. She is very professional and always trying to make the best of everything possible. I highly recommend her!Jul 24, 2016VerifiedKaraokePDX's reply
Thank you Denise, As a music lover since childhood I love sharing it with others. For me, being able to find the music that provides the perfect backdrop is extremely satisfying. -ellie

Ellie was fabulous to work with from start to finish! I loved her personalized approach to setting up my karaoke party. She has an AMAZING collection of songs and found several unusual requests me & my friends had. :-) I would hire her again in a second.Apr 1, 2017VerifiedKaraokePDX's reply
Thank you Jennifer, I love being able to offer those hard-to find songs and you did challenge me:) Your group was just awesome too! -Ellie
I have been at several of Ellen's karaoke gigs and I am very impressed at how she makes the people feel good. She draws shy people out of their shell to sing without regret. The people are always happy with her experience in "the booth", her selection of music, her equipment, and the way she makes everyone feel good.Mar 15, 2017KaraokePDX's reply
Thank you Dave, Karaoke is an interactive activity unlike general DJing. Coaxing some folks out of their shell if they want helps make sure everyone has a great time. -Ellie
Ellie is a very vivacious and fun hostess and encourages the crowd to participate. Our event was very fun and Ellie catered to the music we asked for and added a great mix in with it.Apr 29, 2016KaraokePDX's reply
To me, being a good KJ requires a good ear for a singers vocal range to help them sound their best. It means understanding the audience for favored music genres and then helping singers select songs that the audience will respond to in addition to their Go-To selections and then playing the right balance between karaoke, dance and listening music. -Ellie
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?$75/hr or set fee fee depending on clients venue. This is a tough one for me since it is so dependant on the clients needs. Is it Karaoke or just DJ? Do you need sound or sound and lights? Or are you looking to rent a karaoke machine? The less set up, the less time = less of a charge. I am always willing to work something out if I can.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Primarily a Karaoke company we also provide DJ services for weddings, etc. How we proceed is up to the client. I ask what expectations for the event does the planner have and what the perfect result would be. What role am I expected to fill and any specific requests. I can be as involved or hands off as the client wishes. Each client is different as is each event. A bride is generally looking for more direction than long-time event planners who eat DJ's in their sleep. jk.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Related to event management, I was certified as a meeting planner through San Jose City College and spent 10 years planning events for Apple Computer lanned weddings, receptions, etc. As a DJ/KJ I have been working off and on in the Tigard area for the last 10 years . I have worked at The Hot Seat, Greek Tavern, HiHat/Lu's, Canton Phoenix and now Toby's among others.
