Stefanie is fantastic! She is working with my son this summer to get him up to speed in math. He really likes her and we appreciate her laid-back approach. No stress. She even offers him water and a snack every week. I recommend Stefanie Foster and Brain Sparks Tutoring.Jul 31, 2014Verified
Stefanie is a wonderful tutor and teacher. She has been tutoring my son in Math for 2 years now as he has moved from 8th Grade to 9th Grade at Benson High School. He now has a solid "B" in Geometry, when before he was struggling in all aspects of Math. She communicates well with us and his teachers and gives us good feedback on what he should be working on. You will be very happy if you use her for your son or daughter.Apr 20, 2016

Hi Jocelyn. I'm sorry you feel that way. However, I only saw you one time for 90 minutes. Your expectation was that I would help you get through a series of unit tests (due in less than 24 hours) that covered an entire term of Algebra in our 90 minute period of time. Had I known this prior to meeting you, I would have not taken the job. In hindsight, I should have turned you away when I met you, but I felt bad that you had traveled so far to meet me. My hope was that I could give you some resources for other grad options as you were asking for the impossible from me and yourself. I feel as though you expected me to take the test for you or give you the answers, but that is against my ethics as an educator.
Stephani is great! She is patient and very knowledgeable in strategies that help my son learn. She never makes him feel bad for needing a tutor and is always encouraging. I love that she is affordable too!Dec 13, 2013Verified
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?In order to keep my teaching license current, I am required to continue my education.
- What types of customers have you worked with?I mostly tutor in math. However, I am able to tutor in the Language Arts. The greatest need seems to be in math, currently.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take? One of my students has severe dyslexia. His parents had concentrated so heavily on teaching him to read, that by the time he was in 10th grade, he was doing math at a 6th grade level. Seeing him twice a week for a year, he was able to move from that level to 10th grade math at the beginning of his Junior year. He finished the school year with a B in Geometry and a B in Physics.
