Everything went well. Janna was able to get Asher to take his pill, which is the main reason that I needed her services.

When I tried to offer services, she responded with a message that what I was asking for was "not enough care/attention for a cat," and that she would only take the job if she was able to come at least once per day. I found it very off-putting that she thinks she knows what is best for my particular animal. For context, my cat has anxiety around strange people, so all I wanted was someone who can ensure his food/water/litter are safe a couple times a week while I was gone for 2 weeks. Per my vet, having a stranger try to socialize with him would have been detrimental instead of helpful. I'm sure she was coming from a place of concern for cats in general, but she should be more careful implying she knows better for a particular cat owner's precious pet.

Janna's care left our sensitive cat happier and more well adjusted than we are accustomed to seeing after leaving for a few days. We will definitely invite her to care for him and our other pets again!

I have two feral cats, who never come out for anyone but me. I told Janna she would never even see them when she came over. Boy was I wrong! That kitty kissing her is the most frightened of the two! Janna's amazing.

• What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

  absolutely. there aren't very many "official" c.e. offerings for pet sitting, but i read & learn whenever i can.

• How did you get started doing this type of work?

  when i was 15, my brother did yard work for one of my mom's coworkers. when she went out of town, she had him take care of her dogs while she was away. the next time she went out of town, my brother was going up to wild waves water park to go bungee jumping, so i stepped in in his place. it was me ever since. my mom worked for the center for health research of kaiser permanente who had an internal electronic bulletin board (in the mid 90s!). whenever anyone posted about needing a pet sitter, she replied to the post telling them to contact me. and voila! i'm a professional pet sitter.
