Samuel worked with our two dogs. Power Skill Training worked on reinforcing existing training and helped curb some bad habits our pup had gotten into. For excellent positive reinforcement training, I highly recommend Samuel and Power Skill Training!Nov 15, 2017Review from Facebook

Samuel is a patient, knowledgeable trainer of people to best understand their dogs and how to work together. He is dedicated and tolerant of humans while dogs want to learn! :-) He's earned his credentials and works well with individuals and groups. Highly recommend his coursesMar 20, 2017Review from Facebook
Samuel is a GREAT teacher and partner for me and my very loving but sometimes challenging pup. He's very knowledgeable and has been a great resource for learning how to achieve and maintain improvements in my dog's behavior. He's responsive in his approach, taking into consideration our priorities and needs while guiding us to see the core issues influencing our pup's undesirable behaviors. Most importantly Samuel is patient and thoughtful when training ME, the human, to be the best dog owner I can be and help my pup have a happy and fulfilled life. He sets clear goals that are practical and fit into my schedule, listens to my concerns and feedback, and adapts the goals to make sure we are always learning and progressing. I highly recommend Power Skill Training for any dog owner who is looking for a trainer. You'll get more that training sessions - you'll be educated, empowered, and more confident in your ability to be the best pup-parent you can be!Feb 5, 2019
Samuel was essential in helping my dog with his leash reactivity towards other dogs! He was always professional, would send a follow-up email and would answer any questions that I had!Feb 4, 2019
My highest recommendation goes to Samuel and Power Skill Training. Samuel met my special needs puppy Bear last year and immediately started working with him. Samuel's patient, warm, and effective manner was a huge hit with Bear. Bear calms down quickly and is able to follow commands in Samuel care. We feel so thankful that Power Skill Training is in our community to take care of and assist with Bear at any time. Moreover, Samuel's confidence and direction has helped me work with Bear in more productive ways. I have learned so much! It is without any hesitation that I would refer anyone looking for excellent training in supportive, positive and pro-active ways to Power Skills Training!Jul 9, 2016Review from Facebook
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Behavioral Consultations cost $150 for the initial session (which lasts 1-2 hours). From there, behavioral training cost will vary based to the training plan, type of services recommended, and complexity of the case. Follow up sessions will vary from $50-150 depending. Obedience Consultations cost $75 for the initial session and then either $75 (for 1 hour) or $50 (for 1/2 hour). Group Classes and Day Training Vary in price based on content and duration. Walks cost between $30-50 for 1/2 hour and are available predominately in the downtown Portland area.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? We start with scheduling a brief phone call to ensure the Power Skill Training team can provide you and your pup the best of care! From there we schedule the first session (lasting at least one hour) and send out questionnaire and contract to be completed and returned before we meet. The first is a bit more talking and going over any relevant dog info we might need before beginning a training program. We make sure all contracts are filled out and begin forming a training plan with the client.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work? The Power Skill Training team has extensive knowledge of learning theory, dog behavior, body language, and their care needs. We are CPDT-KA certified and enjoy keeping ourselves up to date on the latest in dog behavior and training.
