- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My hourly rate is $40/hr. If I am traveling to a student, there is an additional $10 fee.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For a voice lesson, I will first do scales to test a student's range. We will do various vocal excercises to practice proper breathing, vowel shape, space and placement. We will then work on a song in the style of the student's choice, whether that is classical, pop, jazz, or musical theater. For piano students, I will start each lesson (except with very beginners) with scales and chords as a warm up. We will work from a lesson book that is appropriate to their skill level, incorporating theory and supplemental pieces.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Music Performance. I still take lessons occasionally to keep improving my technique and learn new elements that I can pass on to my students.
