The second most common projects are online stores, or e-commerce websites. A lot of businesses are online these days. Even those that have a physical location also sell online to expand their market.

If you are looking for a web designer to work with the best thing you can do is have a very clear idea of what you want. Do some research. Find some websites that are in your market, ones that you like the look of, and save those to send as examples to your web developer. Another piece of advice is to have your content prepared. If you are going to hire a copy writer have an idea of how many pages and topics you will have for them. Have your images, videos, and all other content ready when you hire your web designer.
