Introduction: I am a writer, an editor, and above all, a reader with experience in a broad spectrum of the written word. In my five years at Airbnb, I created and updated articles in the Community Support knowledge base. I developed my team’s content standards as well as a quality assurance program to uphold these standards. I also worked extensively on the content strategy for standardized emails to the community. Through this work, I grew my skills in communicating creatively, developing content for a large and varied audience, and producing high quality work on a tight deadline. I have worked in-house and freelance as a writer and editor for book publishers, newspapers, nonprofits, and communications firms. Several of my personal essays and fictional short stories have also been published. This wide array of writing experiences have led me to the philosophy that effective content must be as clear and simple as it is appealing. My rate is $40 an hour for most writing and editing services. For book editing, I charge by the word: $0.03 per word for substantive editing and $0.02 per word for line editing.
