Each lesson is a joy! Students have fun playing the piano and I love seeing them learn. At the recitals, it is a thrill to see the progress each student has made and their confidence as they perform for their families and peers. I enjoy knowing the families and working with their delightful children! Each child has a different personality and I like to discover the best way to help each one feel a sense of joy and accomplishment at the piano.

Georgene Distad taught my son piano for eight wonderful years -- from his fifth year in 2007 to this past Spring at age 13. We only stopped the private lessons because of multiple commitments to both the Middle school where he is in Jazz Band and Advanced Band; and the recent request that he also play Jazz Piano in the High School primary Jazz Band. He is also in the percussion section of the High School Marching Band. These activities involve practices every school day at either 6:30.or 7:00 and after school commitments as well. Georgene offered participation in private recitals and a regional music festival, in which our son excelled. He responded well to her patient, supportive and encouraging approach and will miss the opportunity for the private lessons; however, time does not allow.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Lessons are $100 per month for 4 lessons of 30 minutes each. There is an annual enrollment fee of $50 that covers the costs of recitals, studio expenses, and professional memberships.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to meet with the customer to answer their questions and to allow us to decide if this is a good fit for their family.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA degree in Music Education from Seattle Pacific University, where I also earned my teaching certificate.
