Patty was an excellent DJ. She was priced very well. She was professional but personable. She also communicated very well & was flexible with songs & had an extremely large song library & if she didn't have a song you wanted she would get it. During our wedding she was friendly to guests, kept things moving, communicated well with my husband & I on what the schedule was & played music we liked. Overall I would definitely recommend her for a wedding DJ, or any DJ for that matter.Jan 11, 2015DJ Sassy Patty's reply
Lauren this is such an above and beyond review. I think I just about cried after I read this. Thank you so much.
Patty was DJ for my wedding. She was extremly helpful with picking out all my music. If there was a song that she didn't already have she was able to get it. Patty made sure everything ran smoothly & helped keep us on track which I very much apprectiated. Karaoke was a blast. Patty made it fun for eveyone. I'm very greatful that she helped make are big day so special.Feb 8, 2014DJ Sassy Patty's reply
Thank you Jess. I was so happy that you and Matt asked me to do it. I was honored to be there for your big day.
Sassy Patty was a joy to work with. Her love for the job and care she showed for our Bride and Grooms wishes was fantastic. Would highly recommend her.Jul 25, 2018VerifiedDJ Sassy Patty's reply
Abigail what a great day it was too. Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm so happy you found me. It was just icing on the cake that you gave me another opportunity to be out at Diamond Woods. It was my pleasure.
It was great working with Patty planning the music for our wedding. Everyone had a blast and the dance floor was full until the end I'd the night.Oct 6, 2015VerifiedDJ Sassy Patty's reply
Kelly I had so much fun. Both your families and friends were great. Thank you thank you so much. And I look forward to seeing you soon. What an incredible day.
Patty sure knows how to party! She had such a great music selection and included all songs that were recommended prior to the event. My wedding guests loved that they could make recommendations for songs, too! She really cares about making each event great and went out of her way to scope out my wedding venue before the big day so she knew exactly where to go. She really cares about her customers and does all that she can to meet their expectations, along with going above and beyond! Thanks for being such a big part of our special day!Sep 24, 2017DJ Sassy Patty's reply
Gina what an awesome review. You are such an amazing and gracious woman. What a great day and so many wonderful people. I keep saying thank you but somehow I don't feel that covers it.
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I charge a $200 nonrefundable retainer/deposit to hold the date. My base price is $400 for 4 hours of play time and goes up from there depending on the event, location and venue. Additional hours are $50. If I need to travel over approximately 30 miles I will assess the distance and charge extra potentially for that as well. I do not charge for preparation services or setup and tear down fees. However if I am required to set up and tear down more than once due to a wedding and reception (for example) being in two separate areas or locations then I will assess a $100 fee for each. Rehearsals for weddings are a minimum of $175. I do not charge extra to provide some lighting or karaoke.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have received the Thumbtack Best of 2015 and 2016 awards. I am a trained musician and classically trained vocalist. I have participated in thousands of weddings from multiple angles in my lifetime as well as many other events and parties. I worked as assistant and paralegal to the North Marion County Justice of the Peace and I also worked as a church secretary for a large congregation church. I constantly keep informed of updates to music equipment, professional DJ software and technology. I stay subscribed to various DJ training programs as well as DJ subscriptions regarding current events and technology. I stay on top of current top music and trends.
- How did you get started doing this type of work? With my background in music and performance as well as working in churches and the legal field with a judge/justice of the peace it was only natural. I went to college for music performance and education. At the time it happened I wasn't even thinking about becoming a DJ but a good friend of mine took the time to convince me it was a good idea. Boy did I laugh but look at me today. I would have never thought I would be doing this 21 years ago. I'm good at what I do and I couldn't be happier.
