Why thank you Randy! I was totally not expecting a review at this juncture. What a surprise. I greatly enjoyed meeting both of you!
Patty sure knows how to party! She had such a great music selection and included all songs that were recommended prior to the event. My wedding guests loved that they could make recommendations for songs, too! She really cares about making each event great and went out of her way to scope out my wedding venue before the big day so she knew exactly where to go. She really cares about her customers and does all that she can to meet their expectations, along with going above and beyond! Thanks for being such a big part of our special day!Sep 24, 2017Patricia R.'s reply
Gina what an awesome review. You are such an amazing and gracious woman. What a great day and so many wonderful people. I keep saying thank you but somehow I don't feel that covers it.
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I charge a $100 nonrefundable retainer/deposit to hold the date. My base price is $400 for 4 hours of play time and goes up from there depending on the event, location and venue. Additional hours are $25. If I need to travel over approximately 15 miles I will assess the distance and charge extra potentially for that as well. I do not charge for preparation services or setup and tear down fees. However if I am required to set up and tear down more than once due to a wedding and reception (for example) being in two separate areas or locations then I will assess a $50 fee for each. Rehearsals for weddings are a minimum of $150. I do not charge extra to provide some lighting or karaoke.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have received the Thumbtack Best of 2015 and 2016 awards. I am a trained musician and classically trained vocalist. I have participated in thousands of weddings from multiple angles in my lifetime as well as many other events and parties. I worked as assistant and paralegal to the North Marion County Justice of the Peace and I also worked as a church secretary for a large congregation church. I constantly keep informed of updates to music equipment, professional DJ software and technology. I stay subscribed to various DJ training programs as well as DJ subscriptions regarding current events and technology. I stay on top of current top music and trends.
- How did you get started doing this type of work? With my background in music and performance as well as working in churches and the legal field with a judge/justice of the peace it was only natural. I went to college for music performance and education. At the time it happened I wasn't even thinking about becoming a DJ but a good friend of mine took the time to convince me it was a good idea. Boy did I laugh but look at me today. I would have never thought I would be doing this over 19 years ago. I'm good at what I do and I couldn't be happier.
