Communication was extremely hard the entire way through. I had to do that them multiple times to get a response. Dj didn't play most of my music list I requested even though be was asked 3xNov 28, 2017Big Adventure Entertainment's reply
Hi! Thank you for you feedback and your time. Can give me more info about the event? It would help me better address your feedback. I tend to check on my email a few times a day depending on my schedule. As I am often away from my office. If it is a weekend, I may be busy working at gigs and not check my email until Monday. If a client’s event is coming up then I tend to check in on them more frequently in case of any last minute updates they may want, or need. At the far end of the scale, I reply to messages within 24 hours. On average, it is 2-8 hours, with many questions answered within minutes. If I get a playlist from the client then I will play 90-95% of it along with guest requests when that is ok. Exceptions are when a playlist is too long for the allotted time of the event. A playlist say, with 5 hours of dance music on it, for a three-hour amount of time means that two hours of songs will unfortunately not be played. For this reason clients have the option to put their song picks into a “Please Play”, Play if Possible” and “Do not Play” list to ensure they get to hear the songs they want at their event. I like to make clients happy, and in kind, they leave good reviews. I would never ignore a playlist, nor would I need to be asked to play a playlist “3 times”, so I completely disagree with you on that. The playlist (below) is from a recent wedding and about 5-7 songs were not played because guests requests took up the extra time, and everyone loved it! Two stars is not an adequate review for my overall service, as well as the awesomely successful event you hired me for. There was not one event in 2017 that was not an astoundingly great time. However, if you feel that any non-immediate responses and songs played that were not on your playlist are worth a below average rating to you, then I apologize. I wish you the best in your future endeavors. Sincerely, Kurt Hunter MUST PLAY: 1. American Authors - Best Day Of My Life 2. Ariana Grande Feat. Nicki Minaj - Side To Side 3. Kurt was such an outstanding DJ. He really made out wedding reception shine with the perfect music choices from our dinner all the way through to the end of the evening. We marveled at his excellent DJness keeping all of our toasts, cake cutting, First Dance, Father Daughter dance, Mother Son Dance, garter toss perfectly timed throughout the evening. He was the perfect choice for us. Thanks so much Kurt! I'll be sending you some fabulous photos :)Apr 13, 2014Verified
Kurt Hunter was the perfect DJ and MC for our wedding day. Kurt is organized, easy to work with, and polite! I highly recommend him for any wedding or special event. He made planning my wedding day music fun and easy, and the dance floor was packed all night! He has a wide variety of music but provides tools to help you plan and not get overwhelmed. He was flexible with timing and set up, and understands the right flow for a reception. Nothing could have been better, Kurt was a huge part of why my wedding was a huge success and a ton of fun! Thank you!!Aug 4, 2014Verified
Kurt did great at our wedding! Everything went smooth & as planned. We couldn't have asked for a better DJ. We do apologize for our dog eating your food haha & it was nice that we got to meet with him twice prior to our event. :)Aug 4, 2014Verified
Kurt Hunter was great to work with. He showed up when he said he would and started playing music right on time. He was the DJ for our school dance and he played good Dance-able music the whole time. I would definitely recommend him.Feb 3, 2014Verified
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? The usual contact is via email at first, sometimes phone and email. We then arrange a meeting and start working on details.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I stay on top of trends and the latest ideas and news through meetings with other wedding industry professionals, in online forums, and my own research.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I got started DJing when I was in high school. I got involved in getting a new public radio station up and running in my home town of Sitka, Alaska. After the station started broadcasting I began doing my own shows on the air.
