Shawn completed trimming, moulding, and paintwork in my home. Having had work that was left incomplete by a previous employee, I was hesitant to reach out to someone new but I'm very glad I did. Shawn is a man of his word and is punctual, trustworthy, and an expert at what he does. The work he did in my living and dining rooms gave the rooms new life all within the timeframe and budget he promised. I am very pleased with his work and look forward to many future projects. Do not hesitate to reach out to this guy, he's new to Thumbtack but not to the field, you can't go wrong.

Shawn was very quick to reply to me about the work I needed done. After I gave him more information he came over the same day and completed the work I needed. At that time I only wanted to get so small jobs done but I have plenty of big jobs that I need and I will definitely be contacting Shawn. He was very professional, polite, quick, price was very reasonable and did a great job. I would definitely recommend him and I will be using him for my other jobs.

I cannot say enough how much we appreciate Shawn coming out and doing the job we had in store (installing a kitchen island). It was a small job; which many contractors wouldn't see as worth their time, since we already had the majority of the materials and whatnot in place. Truthfully, we didn't know what we had gotten ourselves into and I didn't want my husband drilling holes where they didn't belong and wanted the job done right. Shawn was more than willing to work with us, friendly and was always very responsive. The quality of his work was better than we ourselves had envisioned. We cannot wait to enjoy our new island with family and friends. It was a necessary addition to our first home as we love to entertain and Shawn helped make that possible. I would recommend him to anyone in a heartbeat!

Shawn is a true craftsman and an expert carpenter, he also is adept with other home improvement jobs. He is skilled, knowledgeable, and a professional at his craft. Great job with the crown moulding throughout house on two floors and looks like it always belongs up there. Personable, nice, respectful, takes his time to get it right the first time, good value, and knows his products and tools well. He knows what will work in your home and shares it with you. Not only is he an expert craftsman, you feel like he’s an old friend you’ve always known. Shawn is the guy if you want a good value and price, and a very nice finished product. Couldn’t be more pleased and I know who to call for my next home improvement project.

We had Shawn do our subway tile backsplash in our kitchen, along with new mirror tile backsplash in our bar area. We would give 10 stars if we could. He came that day for a quote and we hired him immediately! He's very diligent and did an AMAZING job in our kitchen. HIGHLY recommend him!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
As far as pricing a job goes I like to able to be able to give an estimate based on what I see. In this trade there aren't many jobs that are the same, every house is different and every upgrade/repair have their own path. I like to be able to explain that and point certain things out to educate the customer before putting an exact number on things.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When dealing with new customers I listen to what they are trying to accomplish with the ability to explain pros and cons of specific jobs. If I'm fortunate enough to be able to display my work, I aim to build a trusting and repeat relationship.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started doing this line of work during long days in the summer as a kid and realized it was something I really enjoyed doing. Doing something new everyday isn't what everyone in this world gets to do, and it keeps it fresh. The fact that I can go from painting one day to building a house the next is very satisfying.
