FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My typical process for working with a customer is to provide a free onsite estimate. During that estimate I have the opportunity to personally meet you. While I am there, I get to know you and get a feel for what you are looking to have done, what you envision your project to look like, your expectations, timeframe for wanting the work done, and your budget. When the work is a repair, I try to find the root cause of the problem so that whatever is repaired will have the best possible chance of lasting. If appropriate, I make suggestions, give options, explain processes and give reasons for the course of action that is suggested. After everything is taken into account, I taylor an estimate based on your needs and desires. Sometimes I am able to give an estimate right then and there, some require time to get material and labor costs together and others due to the nature of work, require to be billed on a time and material basis.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Though I have had some formal education, most of my knowledge comes from on the job training while working with some of the best companies of the industry in our area.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I had been working at a lumber yard for a few years and decided one day that I wanted to learn how to do masonry (stonework in particular). I started to inquiring of the Masons that came into the yard if they were hiring and after a short time I got hooked up with a small father/son outfit in the area. I was very fortunate that though they performed many aspects of the trade, it just so happened that stonework was their main business and trade specialty.
